I don't think they draw in big crowds. People don't want to get aids.

I went.. it was not bad. The concert itself was supposed to run from 9-11.. naturally, they went off schedule. There were 2 "openers" (a dance group and Barry White) and they both ran far longer than they should have.. So, by the time Amanda Marshall (the first of the five headlining acts) came on stage, it was probably 10:30. By the time Blue Man Group (which was incredible by the way) went off stage and Chantal started setting up, it was nearly 11:30.

Now, let's backtrack for a moment. Immediately following the initial ceremonies , people began to filter out. By the time Chantal came on stage, only a quarter of the original attendance was still in the building. Myself and two friends had bought the $30 tickets and were originally in 26th row in the first level of seating that surrounds the field. When OLP came on stage shortly after midnight, we had been told by security to move up to the front rows immediately infront of the stage. Naturally, I happily obliged. But it kind of bugged me because there were people up there that had paid $150 to sit there and we were getting the same privilege...

Anyways, on to the actual show. To be honest, it wasn't that great. They played three songs in the following order...

1. Innocent

2. Angels/Losing/Sleep

3. Clumsy

The energy was good but the whole performance seemed very rushed and abbreviated. They basically went on stage, played and abruptly left. To the best of my knowledge, Raine never said a word between or during songs other than the lyrics. "Clumsy" was played at the studio version pace minus the keyboard intro.. Which was kind of disappointing because I adored the way they did that on this tour. They did keep the "Never, Never" outro though :) I obviously wasn't expecting a long set but it didn't make sense that they played 3 songs and everyone else played four..

I loved it  The vocal pattern was somewhat awkward because it's modelled off of the same melody that was sung by a dying woman singing into a camera, but I thought it was stunning nonetheless.
