and the anchors fell deep, and they sat around wondering how far below they had actually shoved us...

for everytime they've called us on their own faults, for every false confession, and every forced confessional, this wave rolls over in it's grave

twitching, and still shaking from the cold, they call back their lions and all of their distant relatives cry out in horror "what made you come home, you were supposed to be heroes!"

fourteen small children stood singing from the edges of the cliffs;
songs for the sad mistress of the ships captain, for he isn't coming home, and she's waking up on the rocks below

and the anchor hit bottom, the crew stared up at the surface, wondering how far below they had actually fallen

"get off your soapbox" he screamed at the actors
they stared at him, awe in their eyes
and blank disbelief in their lips
one man in the crowd looked around for a sign of a break in the air

and he stood up in his seat with one defiant stare
he had the attention of every piece of furniture in the room
with one look of horror he cried out "you're breathing in small doses! you may as well take matches to your lungs! doesn't anyone know what they're doing? no wonder you've got this parasite!

did you honestly think those waves were healthy for you? didn't anyone think about the effects of the radio? the never ending infomercial? it's no surprise you've only got a month to live!

and you! yeah you, with your fucking chemicals. your food. your preservatives. heaven forbid you eat something natural. don't act like you didn't know they were unstable. don't act like it didn't taste like pearly forboding on the way down. no wonder you've got cancer!"

if you can call it that, he sat down.
his knees seemed to give way. his face sunk in disbelief.
and then gravity returned.

the crowd stared like they had never seen an idea before.
they looked as though they'd never had a thought in their lives.
one man began to cry, and from somewhere in the back, a small voice screamed "stop crying you hear me? don't go lookin for sympathy here!"

awkward silence doesn't describe tonight.
the actors picked up where they'd left off.
but they'd lost the attention of the audience.
