As far as OK Computer goes, yeah, it's a great album. A brilliant album. But when comparing Kid A to OK Computer, there is a severe distinction in maturity. Kid A just rules, man.
And I mean, as far as albums go, Kid A's just a lot cleaner more interestingly mixed.
And yeah, "Treefingers" sucks, but it's no "Tourist".
Though, I get the OK Computer love. It makes perfect sense.

Supervisors of Chicago's brand new, gleaming gem -- a Frank Gehry-designed music pavilion within Millennium Park -- claim that they want to have more popular music performances, but clearly actions speak louder than words: City officials have vetoed Radiohead's request to play the venue on June 19 and 20. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago's Cultural Affairs Department turned down Radiohead's appeal "even though the group would have paid rental fees of $100,000 -- because the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra is scheduled to hold a rehearsal June 20."
"Free public programming is part of the venue's mission," a spokesperson for the Cultural Affairs Department said. "We have to support organizations such as the Grant Park Orchestra, but we're open to other events if there are availabilities at other times" -- like a private corporate event for Toyota that cost $800,000 and closed the park to the public last summer. According to the Sun-Times, Radiohead still hopes to return to Chicago this summer regardless of whether or not they can play at Millennium.
aaaaanyways...
I listened to Kid A on the bus yesterday.
At first listen, I really really love Optimistic. And Treefingers
The whole album's really good, although more eccentric and experimental than I'm used to.

I'm really not sure of my favorite...probably Hail to the Thief or Kid A.
I've missed far too many chances of seeing them live to miss them on this tour. I do believe I'll be shelling out however much I need to for their show.

Thom & Jonny to play exlusive Big Ask gig
Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood will headline an exclusive gig at Koko in London on May 1st. The show is in support of 'The Big Ask', a Friends of The Earth campaign which is calling on the UK government to take action to control climate change. This will be the first live performance by Thom and Jonny for over a year; Radiohead are currently in the studio working on new music.
The bank holiday show is just one of the highlights of 'The Big Ask Live', a series of concerts taking place across the UK that will feature some of the biggest names and the brightest new talent in British music.
Thom said; "The best thing about 'The Big Ask' for me is the fact that there's no longer this sense of powerlessness, which is what I had for so long about climate change". For the latest information go to www.thebigask.com
