I most certainly did. Though I saw it at 6 cause my friends are incredibly lame and thought that seeing the late movie would be bad since they have to work in the morning.
I was all "eff that! You can stay up till 10 if you ask nicely!"

Haha definately. It was better than I thought it was going to be though...but I keep thinking that it was too much like the matrix movies. like the first one could stand alone but the second and third are just like 2 parts to one movie. Which is cheating.
Cheating I tell you!

Definitely reminded me of matrix 2 in that it felt like a bridge between two more important movies. Quite entertaining, but a lot of needless action scenes and the ending left a lot to be desired.
I guess you can't ask for too much substance from a disney pirate movie though.. so i liked it

yargh i loved it!!! i was sooo surprised when elizabeth did what she did.... i still am not completely sure why she did it.
i loved the part where jack had that stick on his back and was running around, it was hilarious. i loved the action scenes, they made them so entertaining and funny at the same time. i thought the animation was a bit much, but at least it was well done. i can't wait for the next one... that ending was brutal

it was only mediocre.
the best part was when sparrow tells the one guy to hide the rum.
that's the other thing, this movie made me really want some rum. hahahaha.

I agree with Brett. I'm not complaining, I really liked it. But there was like 95% fight scenes and 5% plot. I gotta have some plot people. I thought that water wheel fight scene would never end.
I watched PART of The Libertine the other night and was completely disgusted, but I am much happier with Johnny Depp again. *drool*

Haha, I liked The Libertine. Though only Johnny could play a syphilis-plagued madman and still be even the slightest bit likeable (to me at least

).
I saw Pirates last night and thought it a bit over the top but really rather entertaining.

Doesn't Johnny play a 18th century he-bitch in the Libertine?

You guys should be comparing the ending to The Empire Strikes Back since it's really what inspired the Matrix to copy that format.

No it wasn't, they've been working on both the 2nd and 3rd films simultaneously so that they can pull in this case, a Matrix style release between the 2nd and 3rd films. So fans don't have to wait more than a year to see the final film and it works out much better for the cast and crew to film everything at once. Scheduling in Hollywood can be a bitch and it could have taken 3 years before the actors could commit to doing a third film. So instead of getting a third film in early 2007, we could have had to wait until 2010!
Also, Keith Richards begins filming his scenes in September, other than that most of the third film is pretty much finished!

Yea, I'm still waiting to see it when my girlfriend gets back from her trip to Europe, if they're showing it in the theater at the beach, we're seeing it there, if not, we have to hope they still have it in theaters on the 23rd

I think that when they add the third one too it will be a good film. But a stand alone...yeah, not so good.
Yeah...Johnny Depp is just...well he says at the very beginning you wouldn't like him. It wasn't that, persay, that turned me off of the film. It was probably the play he wrote in it with the giant dildos and penises.
