Which is your favourite song on HIPT?

yeah, you know what, i agree. when the promosquad clips came out and people went bonkers over picture and angels, i thought, "angels, okay! this IS a great song!" and "picture is pretty...but not fantastic."

love, al genina, and apology are pretty much tied, angels not far behind.

i guess everyone here mostly agrees which ones are the best songs.

Boy, Love and Trust, Apology, Angels, and... Picture! I found it really uninspired when I first listened to it from the promosquad clips but man, after listening to it enough times you really learn to appreciate it. It's such a well crafted song and beautiful song.

I had to go with Apology.

Every track on the album has it's merits, but the chorus in Apology is just plain haunting.

Apology is my favourite and nothing even comes close to beat that.
Al Genina and Angels are also my favourites.

i don't know what it is about apology either. the lyrics are really really simple but it sounds really... aural. it's a beautiful melody that has pillars of sound woven around it, and i don't think it needs to be really complex to be a great song. i think that's what i like about this album so much--that aural feeling.

For the promos..my favourites were "Angels Losing Sleep" and "World on a String. I was hardly impressed by "Wipe That Smile Off Your Face" but hearing the full version, I can honestly say it's my favourite.

"Love and Trust" and "World On a String" are also up there.

I really don't mind Where Are You all that much anymore. I still think it's a better song than Innocent, Do You Like It, and Made of Steel.

I don't think "Where Are You" is that bad, either. It's really grown on me and it's a song I don't skip (well...I skipped it once...) Plus visualizing the video helps.

You know what? I honestly think this whole album translates absolutely beautifully live (the songs we've heard live so far, anyway). Definitely a good trait for an album to have.
