i've posted twice in there in the last year, both were probably rude
"How can we justify spending so much on destruction and so little on life?" Matthew Good

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good

I felt it in the wind, and i saw it in the sky, i thought it was the end, i thought it was the 4th of July.

One time I was in my room listening to the Arcade Fire EP, and then my mom walks in and she makes a face and says "what is this music? It sounds awful!" And i was like, ouch mom, ouch that hurts  (seeing as they are my favourite band after OLP). now i know what it feels like for her when i make fun of all of her music. But I also hated the arcade fire on the first few listens but fell in love rather quickly. I think its like that for everyone. Nobody likes the arcade fire on the first listen. nobody. Especially the Ep. you have to listen to it at least 5 times before you can start liking the songs.

Has anyone seen the new vid for Neighbouhood #2 (Laika)? They premiered it on Muchmusic last week. It's pretty good. The song isn't my favourite, but it's great to see them with a new video. I just wish they would release Tunnels as a single. My gosh..that song rocks

I also too did not care for them the first few times I listened to them. But as is the way with these things, funeral's presence on my itunes list eventually caused itself to be known, and the rest is lovey dovey history

You couldn't be more right. It actually took me until I saw them live on the MuchMusic Video Awards (which totally sucked this year, btw. Unlike years past) and they were definately the highlight of the show. It made me go whoa. Blew me away. And I've been fan ever since

Yeah...that performance definitely increased ppl's awareness of them. Gave them a big boost in popularity in Canada I think.

Their new video made me think of School House Rock.

Then I changed the channel.

(I do actually like them, just not how people seem to be obsessed with them)

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

I'm not obsessed, just a fan. I'm gussing people seem obsessed because they're just soooo happy to have something great in Canadian music come along.
