You my friend are seriously mistaken.

No other band I repeat no other band can even touch Radiohead. If you put in "Ok Computer" listen to it beginning to end and then put in "The Bends" and listen to it beginning to end" you'll find two completely different yet equally amazing albums. Then throw in "Kid A" and you wont know what just hit you.

But I can assure you anyone that actually owns a copy of "Ok Computer" will never call Radiohead over-rated.

I once thought radiohead was over-rated, I was once that nieve.

I'm SO freaking tired of people saying things like "if you don't like ____ band, you're naive" or "you don't know anything about music" or whatever. Not everyone likes the same music. I for one find (newer) Radiohead boring. And, no, that doesn't mean I'm naive (or ignorant, which you implied by the OK Computer comment... I've heard OK Computer all the way through several times). I do own The Bends, and I enjoy it (as well as Creep and some of the singles from OK Computer). But anything past that (and possibly before it cos I've never heard all of Pablo Honey), and they've lost me.

And, no, I'm not saying Radiohead's bad. But in my opinion, they ARE over-rated. To others, they might not be. That doesn't make either of us wrong.

You are right by saying that, however, more of the point of my post and I should have represented it better was for someone just say Radiohead is over rated without anything reason why or without backing up their statement is....well i'm not sure nieve is the right word i'm looking for but it's does nothing.

However, if someone can say Radiohead is over-rated because...this..this.. and this, then they have a little more validity and more of my respect, and thus I will not attempt to bash them.

Also, I don't particularly think that "Ok Computer" will make you think Radiohead is the greatest band ever. However, I do believe that by listening to that album, it will be good enough to make you say 'whoa, I wasn't expecting this what else does radiohead have out there?' It will make you pick up their other albums and listen to them. Through which I believe someone's opinion can be changed.

But to say Radiohead is over-rated without any reason why, one assumes that, that hasn't encompased themselves within their music to give them a fair trial.

I agree, and just because you own the Bends does not mean that you know all there is to Radiohead.

I didn't say that made me know all there is to Radiohead. I also said that I've heard OK Computer all the way through several times (I borrowed it for a friend years ago to see if I wanted to buy it). I've also heard a lot of the material since then and was just bored by it.

Then how do you like the bends?

I already said I enjoy The Bends. But as a whole, their catalogue bores me. This is my personal opinion.

Maybe you should go back and read my first post. :P

Duuuudes.
Chill! Is it a crime to be bored by Radiohead? No!
Its her opinion, its not like she's setting Thom Yorke on fire and organizing an anti-radiohead march

Amnesiac recently surpassed OK Computer as my favourite Radiohead album. I think.

All this really should be in the appreciation thread, shouldn't it?

Perhaps.

What other band out there has a guitarist who doubles as the BBC Concert Orchestra's in-residence composer?
