Well, we all know Hitler was all about free choice.

In fact, I think that's why he's still revered as one of the most kind and generous leaders ever.


Anyways, it makes sense that a religion that follows right wing practices would elect a right wing leader.

I don't care what his motivations are. I don't care what he did or was forced to do in his youth. If he can bring a little good to the world, I'll like him. I'm not about to judge the guy before he's had a chance to do anything as pope.

Not too mention it was over 60 years ago that he was a member of Hitler's youth. Even if it wasn't mandatory to join I'm sure there was pressure to join, or at least it was concidered a preferable group to be a part of.

Either way, he's who he is now. Criticizing him for being conservative is pointless, its the catholic church, they're conservative, thats it! I can accept it.

Exactly. It doesn't have to be mandatory for him to have been forced to join. Even if it just meant that citizens were killing people who didn't join (with or without Nazi orders).
