It sucks because the record industry has abbsolutely no evidance that record sales are dropping because of downloads. Morons.

Easytree was easily one of my favorite sites. In the past 4 or 5 months I had downloaded about 15 Hendrix concerts and 6 or 7 Jeff Buckley shows. Really sucks they had to shut down.

Oh yeah for an update.
Turns out their host received one letter from some German lawyers. They were shut down over a Nirvana DVD.

BAH!
One freaking DVD and the whole site gets shut down. That's so unfair.

Actually it was even more specific than that! The song Smells Like Teen Spirit on that DVD.

I assume that one song's video was released officially?

I dunno. If it was, it was up there against Easytree policy.

It probably was. It was probably one song on a full concert's set that was released officially.
I don't understand why they couldn't just ask for that one torrent to be taken down. (Well, I do understand... but it's not right.)

So they read through the lawyer's letter a few times.
Then they had a good laugh.
Then they told their host that the lawyers were ridiculous.
Then they changed names.

ithink bands should fight with the AFFS (Artists For File SHaring) i mean especially of live shows and stuff, i mean come on they can't make money off that anyway unless they decide to put all their live recordings on itunes or something.
