The Vatican has always been extremely tight-lipped about the health of the Pope. When they said that he was sick last week, I assumed the worst. I mean, he was in his mid-80's and had a major operation on his throat. Not to mention the fact that he suffered from Parkinsons Maybe because I'm not Catholic, but it doesn't feel like his death just came out of left-field since I don't have the deep-rooted emotional connection to him like some other people. I'd been following his condition on the news since the moment we heard that his condition had taken a sharp turn for the worse. It had been a foregone conclusion in the media that the Pope would pass on between Saturday-Monday. The moment I heard about the urinary infection, I knew that he would soon lose his kidneys, and that would seal his fate. Sad to see him go, but we're all mortal while on Earth.
Do you think that they'll purpously pick a more "liberal" Pope next?

to Jonny: He's been given the last rites several times over his lifetime when things arent looking good. Its standard procedure.

Anyways I dont understand why everyone is speculating as to why I feel like it was fast. I dont care if no one else does, I do. So, get over it.

I know that, but this time it was obvious that it was much serious than other times (excluding the assassination attempt).

it was fat free just-add-water confetti angel food cake. in honor of the pope, we gave it papal colours and topped it in purple frosting. it tasted horrible and had the consistency of rubber, as we imagined the pope would.

Prophet?

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

so i was talkin to sinead about this cuz i was curious about the whole "fast" thing.. and i (and i think others) misinterpreted what she meant to mean in relation to the news story but alas i was wrong

she was coming from her own personal standpoint as a catholic and not the news story standpoint.
go fuck yourself.

Admit it Cass, that's just the CEO of Target.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.
