He just mentionned on his website last week that he's playing with a new band. It could be just some jam sessions or something but I don't think it's something to really get worked up about until Matt comes out and tells everyone about it, which he'll do in time.

Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

He claims this new band (which does have a name, though it won't be released yet) will allow him to 'get his alt-rock yaya's out'. No information in terms of the lineup just yet. Matt says this is being done so that he can move his own solo work 'into the sort of anti-sales dependent realm that I would prefer it be in.

i dont remember where i read that but saved it.

Yeah, he was admiring Broken Social Scene in Chart.

This could be totally unrelated though.

hmm...

I used to like Matthew Good Band. Bought Underdogs and Beautiful Midnight ages ago. Got tired of them. Haven't bought or really paid attention to their/his music since.

But, I just got Strange Days stuck in my head, so I decided to dust off BM and put it in.

My thoughts: "Shit. Now I have to go buy a bunch of Matt Good albums."

I actually like Underdogs better than beautiful midnight. The non-singles are far better in my opinion.

Good Luck with that one... It took me two years to find Loser Anthems, and I've never seen Lo-Fi B-sides. Raygun is pretty easy to find though.

Me too. I had Raygun on repeat for weeks when I was going through some crappiness earlier this year and needed cheering up. Raygun and Generation X-Wing just make me want to dance

not a big fan of LOTGA. It's sub-par with everything else MGB made.

Kind of what I figured it might be. I'm looking more forward to hearing AoB for the first time.

Also definately looking forward to Avalanche and WLRARR (although for whatever reason neither Sunrise nor HMV had either of these).

Did you try looking in the "g" section since it could be under "Good" I've seen a couple places have seperate spots for MGB and MG stuff, which is kinda stupid but oh well.

Yeah, I tired. They actually had all of the MGB stuff under "G". I would have asked, but since it's the last Saturday before Christmas, it's insane at the mall. I'll try again some other time, I guess.
