And I explained why an acoustic is harder to learn on.
The strings are farther away from the neck, so it takes stronger fingers to hold them down (and, when just starting out, that can be difficult. I started fairly young, and the acoustic was too hard for me).
Also, I'm not sure who said it, but your acoustic should have steel strings. I have no idea why you're using nylon strings (judging by the music you listen to - olp, etc - you'd want to be playing a steel string acoustic).
Only half of mine are nylon. And it actually belongs to my sister, so I have nothing to do with the strings. And why is it that I'd want steel strings?

Cause steel strings give it a better sound. More for the rockish sound, not some classical stuff. Also nylon strings suck.

My friend told me it was better to learn on an acoustic because they are harder to press down, and your skills are better because that's how you learn, and it will be more accurate on an electric.
Monday should always be off from school and work.

Well, it doesn't really help any. You may get stronger a little faster, but an electric is a much easier guitar to play.
Choosing the acoustic first is like learning to ride a bike for the first time on a full-sized bike. Sure, once you learn you'll be great on both that bike and one with training wheels. But if you start with the training wheels, it's a much smoother learning process.

The guitar I bought the other day is an acoustic fender

The guy at the guitar store showed me about 10 or 15 different acoustics. All ranging from cheapo 75 dollar guitars up to some nice Taylor and Gibson acoustics. But he said not to buy something cheap from Wal-Mart (haha, I didn't tell him I worked there) or Sears. He said the wood they are made of is crap, and the strings sit higher off the neck and thus makes it harder to learn. I'm happy with mine. It sounds nice and I wanted to learn acoustic before electric. Not to mention I can't really get an electric right now since I have neighbors all around me and such.
