here is what i did for free tickets/tickets for sold out shows:

i called the record company and told them that i am a entertainment critic for the university of houston daily newspaper (the daily coogar). i informed them that i wished to do a review for one of thier bands comming into town but the show was sold out. then i asked them if there was someway of me being able to meet and greet the band in some form or fashion. this has worked a few times. once my friends got to meet silverchair, and order pizza for them. they usually want a copy of the review though, so be ready to produce one. (that and i.d.) my advice is to befriend a person in the newspaper department and give them a review, just so that you can add some truth to the lies. it's worked several times, others they just didn't reply.

Well...Brad could probably explain my hatred towards people (I complained to him about it last night) but I guess I'll explain.

ok. Why I hate people. So, I was in my room, viewing the cm and casually chatting with Brad. All of a sudden, five or six people come in my room, followed by my roommate. "You don't care if we finish our [role playing card] game in here, do you?" She said. I told her I didn't care (and I didn't at the time). Well. I would've had no problem with people playing a game in my room, until I discovered what assholes they were. This one kid, I seriously wanted to strangle. I recently discovered that he lives in my hall. At first glance he seemed like a pretty cool guy, he has the black specs and is very "emo" looking. So, this kid comes in my room and the first thing he criticizes is the two magazine articles I have on my wall about some emo bands that I like. He goes on and on and on about this. I told him I like Dashboard Confessional, and he replies with a very annoyed, "why???" And then, to make it worse, he starts telling me about how he's going to see Bright Eyes. I was like, "Are you serious!?!!?!?!?" and he shows me the tickets. Oh yeah, and the other people were like, "I knew about that band before you've ever heard of them (in superior tone)" Well, the kid could've just left that at there....no, he has to go on and on about how he's seen them in concert and everything (talks about this in a VERY condesending tone). That wouldn't bother me that much. But, the kid has to constantly criticize EVERYTHING: what we were watching on tv, JD Salinger's works, everything....oh, but wait, it gets worse. THEN HE STARTS CRITICIZING OLP. OMG. I was about to lose it. My roomie's old roommate has to put her two cents in, saying "I just can't stand OLP." and THEN she starts making fun of "Superman's Dead," saying "That song is SO seventh grade!" and she starts making fun of the woo ee oo (you know what I mean) part of SD. I think she noticed that I was either going to burst into tears or beat the living shit out her her, so she stopped. Very good idea for her. Oh yeah, the annoying emo boy kept on reading my ims too....don't ever read stuff behind my back, ever.

After a few more minutes more of putting up with that shit, I took my keys and went down to the computer lab. The second I logged on aim express, my roommate sends me an im, saying "they all left." She knew I was angry. So, now, I think she thinks I'm mad at her, which I'm not. I just had to leave the situation before things got "out of hand."

ok. that's why I hate people. Well, not all people. I just hate condescending little bastards who think they are superior to EVERYTHING and nothing's good enough for them.

oh yes, I forgot. This same girl who made fun of SD last night told me last year that she hates OLP because "Raine complains too much about his father."

Just give me the address and the room number and I'll take care of everything. I used to horse-back ride so I've got a nice HARD riding crop...I hate when people criticize things in an unjustified manner. It's okay to state opinion, but, for example, you can't say that the Red Wings suck and mean it as a fact. Dude, they won the Stanley Cup, they can't suck. Unless a band is completely God aweful, which OLP isn't, than passing judgements like that is merely opinion, and should not be stated as fact. :|

thats ultra-crappy... poor Bethany
I feel for ya!!

okay my night last night started crappy, ended great...
first i had to work 4-7 and then at like 6:30 my boss told me that i had to stay till the supper rush was over (i work at KFC) and so finally at 8 i get off. Well I was sposed to go out with gf for supper at 7:30, so thats why i was pissed to stay... anyways I then went over to my gf's house and we ended up going out to eat at East Side Marios (my fave restaurant) and it turned out they changed the menu so my fave thing to order no longer existed, I asked the waitress about it and she said she could make me as close as possible to what they used to have but they couldnt get the same sauce on the pasta... so ya we ate it wasnt great and i was kinda disappointed in ESM for the first time ever...
so then me and my gf went to Blockbuster and rented "riding in cars with Boys"... very good movie, and i recommend it to anyone.

so ya to recap...
working later than should have = bad
fave restaurant not living up to standards = bad
"Riding In Cars with Boys" = good
spending an evening with my gf = great
