I've decided that if or when I have kids, I'm never going to ground them. By friend's parents just ruined my day :(

Yes, because you never want to ruin someone's day when punishing them for something...

My friend's parents, not mine. my point was, it ruins their friends' day too. You should take away other priveledges instead.

I don't think I've ever been grounded...

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

It depends on how the kids are and how the parents are. Sometimes grounding is a very effective tool. Just cause it doesn't suit you, doesn't mean they shouldn't do it :P

I haven't written an essay for almost 6 years.

Or done homework for almost 10 years.

I win.

Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

I didn't necessarily say they shouldn't do it, I said that In the future (if I keep my current opinions) I won't do it. I myslef have never been grounded, or punished that I can recall since I was in grade four.

although, I think my friend's parents are too severe about it. She has in the past been grounded for trivial things like accidently missing the bus, or failing a quiz even though she tried really hard.
