too bad we couldn't somehow tap into Jeni's and Jim's memory to connect to our own minds for the songs.

Very Spiritual Machines material wouldn't you say. Actually the movie Until The End Of The World(yes it is the movie the U2 sonj was written for) is about this woman who collects virtual memories through a device and puts it on her blind mom's head to see.

only if these things really existed now to the general public.

P.S. Jeni- I thank you for sending me that photo of Steve and Jeremy. That is a great shot. I really want a digital camera(although i don't ahve acomputer yet. )

That would be awesome. I have it running in my head all the time these days! The show was amazing and I remember so much of it. Picture my god is beautiful :) I can't WAIT to get a copy of it on mp3 :)

ok ok my review if anyone cares.

.:Cold Mountain:.

Wow. This past weekend was AMAZING. Completely amazing. Jim and I on the spur of the moment (2 days notice) decided to fly out to Denver, Colorado to see Our Lady Peace at Coors Mountain Jam on Saturday August 14, 2004. We booked our flight, car, and hotel in 20 minutes. Ordered our concert tickets WILL CALL. Went home and packed. And giggled to ourselves about the events that were about to unfold.

We missed our first flight because we didn't meet the 30 minute prior to take off registration law. But they put us on the next flight out in 2 hours. (Im scared of flying by the way, but OLP was reason enough to get on 4 planes this past weekend. haha) We flew on friday morning rather than trying to fly in saturday and rush to the venue. After a plane change over in Dallas, Texas, we reached Colorado around 5pm. Grabbed the rental car, drove to the hotel, freshened up and went shopping! We were staying next door to a huge mall so we went to URBAN OUTFITTERS and got some really cool vintage shirts, Jim got some dickey's at hot topic, and I got some bracelets...just thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. After that we wanted to go see the mountains before dark. We drove to Red Rocks and the scenery is absolutely amazing! I'd never seen any place more beautiful than Red Rocks Colorado. All Jim and I could say was "How beautiful is this place? and we're here - TOGETHER! And we're gonna see Our Lady Peace tomorrow HERE!" Red Rocks is an amphitheater built into the mountains. Everything is natural but the stage. And its perfect. We walked around the venue, checking out the enterances and seeing where we need to be, and what time and all that. "Casing the Joint" is what we called it haha After we were statisfied with everything, we left and just went driving, looking at everything we could. We drove to Denver, Colorado Springs and everything in between. Saw 6 flags there. We found a movie theater that looked awesome at 9:30pm and stopped in randomly and saw "COLLATERAL" with Tom Cruise, which sucked, the theater sucked - and it was a UNIVERSAL MOVIE THEATER - and we both were pissed off afterwards for wasting our money haha Plus getting lost in Denver was the most amazing thing. We could tell what direction we needed to go in, but we werent that bothered. We were loving being lost and finding something new every few mins!!

Then it was off to drive around some more, get some food and head back to the hotel. I think we ended up back around 2am and crashed. Got up around 7am, got ready and headed off to Red Rocks to claim our will call tickets. Met tons of people at will call, gave us oranges. How random was that? Then we walked through the venue watching sound check. Where else on earth can you just walk into a venue and watch soundcheck??!! Colorado ROCKS! Then we had to start lining up outside so they could close it down and finish setting up. We met people from Canada, Missouri, Lousiana, Arizona, even Colorado in line. Even someone was from ALASKA. Imagine that haha. People from everywhere. Sat there for 2 hours and cooked. haha

Finally we are allowed in and we rush to the 5th row and grab some seats. The people from Louisana sat next to us. They end up saving our seats all the way through the concert when Jim and I decide to force our way down against the barrier, which we did 3 times :P lol We're so determined!! We watch Dave Attell host, some local band ION come on first. They were alright. Then Molotov from Mexico City. They sucked hard. They were some heavy spanish band that kept dissing George DubYAH Bush so much it got old. Then Little Jon came on. He was alright. First rap show like that and we were on the barrier because...OLP were next. hehe Gave us some energy drinks and stuff. Jim and I pushed to the right as far as we could and got as close to the middle as we could. We had an amazing view and totally happy where we were standing. Out walks the band. Last there is Raine. Jen Freezes. Jim Freezes. We look at each other jaws swaying - the music starts, we start screaming. HAHA. It was so surreal. We look at each other and hug and start watching the show. They played 2 new songs "Dont Ask Why" and "Picture". Picture is absolutely beautiful. Raine plays guitar. The show was just energy packed and amazing. Never missed a beat. Raine kept pointing at me and Jim and shaking his head YES! cause we sang every song, even the newer songs, not the new new ones. He totally dug us. Jeremy and Steve didn't take their eyes off us. They were feeding off our energy I suppose. Raine ran into the crowd during WALKING IN CIRCLES to get the crowd clapping, which I already was because I know the drill man! Im an OLP fan :P He went back on stage and sang the ending of it. Finally Raine just looked at me and Jim and walked over to where we were standing. Stood up on the barrier, reached for my hand, grabbed it, then grabbed Jim's hand and held on and sang to us. Our hearts were beating out of our chests. It was Raine right there, singing to us. US. And he wasn't letting go. I slipped my hand across "THE BRACELET". I was smiling so huge not taking my eyes of him! After that, me and jim looked at each other glowing in amazement. Wow. Most amazing show ever. I got Raine's set list, and Jim got Jeremys.

Then we ran out to see if we could catch them after they exited the stage. Jim got to meet Raine for about 20 seconds while I was in the drink line. BOO! But Jims never met him so what the hell? I have. I'm ok ;) We watched them do a meet and greet and walk to the van and leave. All but Jeremy. So we went back to the stage and we were sitting there watching the show when we decided to take a walk and guess who we run into? Jeremy. We're like HEY! Jeremy's like HEY! and we start talking, telling how amazing the new songs were, the show was amazing. And talking in general. Jeremy wanted to know about us so we told him. Where we were from, me from TN - Jim from England. He was shocked that we flew out there just for them haha He said you got a pen? we're like no but we got a camera. So he insisted we take some pictures and said we needed autographs too so he starts yelling for anyone to share a pen with us. Finally someone did after all 3 were running around trying to find a pen haha Laughing the whole time. Jer signed our set lists and a few of Jim's things he brought. Talking to Jer like a "friend". Not fans. Felt so good. We got some pictures and let Jer go on his way.....with 2 very happy people. :)

The rest of the night we were jumping around, running up the steps like kids totally estatic about seeing olp. We watched Ludacris, and Kid Rock and Nickelback who all were great bands but we were sooo buzzing from OLP's show we couldnt stop thinking about it. All the bands performed so well. :) Tons of pictures, over 100. 50 just of olp hehe. too many to post online.

Wow. Just wow. Randomness rocks.

Aw man, I feel awful I didn't go now!

But, I'm glad you had fun. That Red Rocks sounds AMAZING, we need a venue like that in Southern Utah.

That's the great thing about the mountains, you CANNOT get lost. The mountains are East, that's all you need to know.

Hey Jeni,

do y ou remember if in Wipe That Smile at the end if Raine inserted Red Rocks or Colorado in lyrics.

the part that goes. I'm not your friend, I'm from (insert place playing here) . I love whenever I hear the San Fran show. In Reno he said This is America.

WIC> That is cool he came out in the audience. That was the song he had people get up and dance too.

Reading your review and talking to you makes me feel like I was there. One day I will make it to Red Rocks. My friends put photos of it up at their site. They just did a tour of USA and had the most amazing photos of it up. It is so breathtaking. Makes note to watch u2 at Red Rocks tonight.

the red rocks ones or Jeni's.

They also have photos at the Red Rocks site. I flew over them, but never been there. They have others that are breathtaking. I would be in awe just on that alone. Here is another one of the stage.

BTW. they didn't play RR. They visited it while out there. They just started to tour this year. 2 guys a van and nothing else. I can't wait to see them again and hear the new songs they wrote.

It can be like VH1's back yard bbq. -where the band comes and plays for you and 25 friends during labor day. I had a dream last year that I won a contest like that with OLP, but instead of your back yard we went to the carribean. I still remember that dream also. It was funny.

I had the most amazing time ever in my life. Best OLP concert. Raine had NOT lost his falsettos! The band never missed a beat like they never stopped touring!

I noticed that you said Raine has not lost his falsettos. I am gonna take this a step further. Did he use them in any of the new songs?

I hate to be bugging you, but did Raine have a higher-pitched voice? I was wondering if his deeper voice is intentional, or if all the touring took a toll on him. Maybe some rest helped him out a little.
