I'm actually going to 4 shows

And I'm definitely not rich. Concerts just happen to be my most favourite hobby. And thankfully the others didn't cost as much as Mississauga.
The reason I'm going to 4 is that I have different friends visiting to attend each show! Too bad we couldn't coordinate so that I only needed to do a couple of shows instead of 4.

Okay, I was at the Bravo taping last night in Toronto. Wow!
The performance was strings, bass, guitar, drums and of course piano.
Setlist:
1. Time
2. Surrounded
3. Ghosts of You
4. Wonderful
5. So Cold
6. Blue
7. Blame Yourself
8. In This Life
9. All I Can Do

:love::love:
Because it was for tv, but not live, there were 4 full-song retakes, and a few songs that were stopped and restarted (audio problems, technical problems, or a problem with the band). So in all, the performance lasted 2 hours, with a few minutes of useless interviewing in between a couple of songs by Marilyn Denis from CityLine.
I think it will air October 3rd at 10pm... lots of time before that so I'll keep an eye out for an official announcement.
My day ended pretty well, considering it started out with my car being broken into. ggrrr

You car was broken into! That sucks! Your right, you ended the day off pretty well. So did you buy tickets to the Bravo taping? That would be very cool!

No, you actually couldn't buy tickets to get in or I would have planned to go all along. 80-90% of the people there were Chantal's friends, family, and industry people. The others were contest winners. I didn't win, but yesterday afternoon I was invited as someone's guest. I wasn't willing to go without my husband this time... it's our wedding anniversary this week, and we had already decided to go into TO together for the afternoon/evening after a stressful morning (because of my car). So we went to Bravo and asked if he could come with me, and they said yes

I was told Mississauga was the most expensive of the tour... it's because of the location (closest to TO) and the venue. I could be off slightly but I think I paid $70ish. But tickets at one of the other venues I'm going to were $44, so it was a big range.

A one hour radio special with Chantal as DJ... she chooses 10 Cdn songs to play (including a Sarah McL song and an OLP song), then she plays some of her new CD, then some from the Warchild compilation)
The second one is the Sony Studios performance from 2 weeks ago that I went to, and it's cut together with interview clips about the songs, etc.

CHANTAL KREVIAZUK Ghost Stories (Columbia/Sony BMG)
One notable feature of Chantal Kreviazuk's fourth album is its total lack of guitars. At the urging of husband (and producer) Raine Maida, Kreviazuk has ditched the six-strings in favour of a sound heavily focused upon her strongest suit — the piano. With rich orchestral strings filling in the spaces, and strong drum work serving as the heartbeat, Ghost Stories has a little more meat on its bones than Kreviazuk's previous efforts. She's always had a unique vocal style, but has a tendency to sing past her range in a strained, shrill register ("You Blame Yourself"). Plus, the lyrics for "All I Can Do" are downright gooey. Despite these aspects, Ghost Stories is probably the most musically interesting album that Kreviazuk has put out in her career. There's still a pop sensibility to her work, but this LP is a step outside the box that should satisfy old fans and win new ones. Shannon Whibbs

thanks
I saw this the other day:
"Would Chantal Kreviazuk still be famous if her husband wasn't Raine Maida? Alas, we'll never know. Mr. OLP is the producer of her new effort, Ghost Stories, which sees her ditching a guitar-based sound in favour of a more keyboard-driven one. You can find it in stores on Tuesday."

When I went to the ladies room an 80 year old man gave me a 20 minute history lesson, toured me to rooms that were closed off to the public, told me about films that have been shot there, etc.

It's interesting to note that Chantal's fans are having the same argument that people have over Gravity and HIPT, only the opposite. They miss the radio friendly songs and adult contemporary "pop" sound (aside from a couple of songs that I know will end up being singles). There are some songs that are more real, artistic, experimental... she has said she's finally not afraid to try new things and had the freedom to do so. Some of her fans are turned off by it, while others love it.
