He's been playing without a setlist for the last few shows. Hopefully that'll make for an amazing show!

Mmm. Muse was amazing live on Halloween.

Set:

Butterflies & Hurricanes
New Born
The Small Print
Muscle Museum
Citizen Erased
Ruled By Secrecy
Apocalypse Please
Hysteria
New song
Time Is Running Out
Plug In Baby
Bliss
-------
Micro Cuts
Stockholm Syndrome

The venue wasn't that great but they put on a solid show all the same. Any Muse fan can read that setlist over again and know that it fucking rocked. Every song but Ruled By Secrecy was pure adrenaline, it was sooo good.

They didn't seem all that into it though, unfortunately. They're all phenomenal musicians, but I really got the feeling that the show was just another stop on their tour, and nothing at all special to them. So there wasn't a ton of energy, but the music didn't suffer for it.

Also, the opening band, Evening, were ridiculous. Their first song sounded all right, but the rest of their songs sounded almost identical. And their guitarists were just ridiculous: one picked a chord every song and played it over and over agian, for the entire song, without derivation. One chord, every song. The other guitarist wasn't much better, but he sported the ugliest, overgrown mustache I've ever seen.

Thanks for writing a much more valuable Muse review than mine, Josh.

Just got back from MG. Wow, ohhh wow.

The man puts on the most entertaining live shows I've ever seen. Haven't seen all that many, but well.. y'know. Anyways, the setlist was great and he kept the audience amused and happy throughout his performance. I don't know the exact setlist but personal highlights for me were a supersized version of) Giant, Rat Who Would Be King and the opener Blue Skies Over Bad Lands. Matt's vocals were amazing (as always) and the whole band sounded fantastic.

He made some great comments in between songs regarding the election and the surroundings. Hehe, it was in a club and there were two tall dance cages on either side of the stage. Someone suggested that Rich (bassist) get in one and dance. He didn't, but hilarity ensued regardless. Also, Matt made a kickass "presentation" about Afghanistan with little doodles with permanent marker on sheets of paper in the middle of North American For Life. Really fucking great.

Ahh, I loved it. Matt certainly gave the impression that he was having a great time too. I could go on, but I'm not too good at making things sound interesting. Heh.

Alex, you'll have an amazing time on Saturday, I'm sure.

That sounds amazingly awesome. I feel like I got jipped because of my crappy crowd.

That sucks. I was pleasantly surprised by this crowd's maturity. There were a couple of extremely annoying girls who kept screaming how much they loved him, but that's about it.

sounds exactly like my muse experience a couple weeks ago. the energy was low...i prefer to see a crappy band with a lot of energy than skilled musicians like muse simply playing their set.

and evening was hilarious. one of them was wearing their own band shirt. the dude with the mustache is my new hero. :P

At first I thought the mustache was just for Halloween, but I was mistaken.

heh, i know someone going to that.. and they know one of the bands.. maybe it's the same one. i don't remember their name. ohhhh well

so, avril on Thursday was awesome!!we ended up with amazing seats, and of course she sang really really well. the one bad thing was that she didn't sing Fall to Pieces. that made me upset, lol. hands down her best song was Tomorrow, she just sat down her and her guitar, and i was ridiculously impressed.

and scene.
