But I don't see. Burn Burn was 80% boring in terms of instruments and vocals.
This whole song is interesting in terms of sound.
The bridge is awesome. I like the vocal effect on his voice.
Also, Raine tweeted this in response to falsetto on the album: "haha, dont worry. too much falsetto on the new record."
Too much. Sick.
I am a fan of falsetto . However, There is falsetto in Papermoon, and that also doesn't meet my standards for OLP. I do agree that this song is probably better than anything on Burn Burn (to my standards), it still doesn't sound like OLP. If this was just a raine solo song i probably would love it, but its not what I expect from the whole collaboration.
Let's stop and consider the fact that the majority of this song was put together in less than 5 days.
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida
Yeah, I think everyone is overanalyzing this song, which is clearly just a spur-of-the-moment theme song for the Occupy Wall Street movement. Don't expect this to be on the CD.

I never said it was bad. It just doesn't sound like olp, thats all.

Yea, I feel the same way. I think the song is good for what it is. Though if it were on the upcoming OLP CD, I would think it woudln't fit too well considering they're trying to make the music "different" and it's also not very OLP sounding. Anyways, it'd be great if we could get the proper mp3 version of it!

Someone asked Raine about that on twitter and he said it's in the process of being mastered so I think we will be getting it.
Even if it does make the album.... it sounds like they were almost completely finished with the writing part of it so it's not likely we'll lose anything in place of it. Maybe it'll be an extra.

It's been like that since yesterday. I know Trusty was doing some site updates then. I think maybe after 5 days of staring at a computer screen he might have just been too out of it.

I feel a bit better finding out that this song is more a "theme song" for the protests, and is not meant for the CD. It's a little too "Raine Maida"-ey, and not OLP-ey.
Raine's tweet:
"working on what could potentially be OLP's first single tonight. Heavy Fuzz gtrs with steve. more falsetto than you can shake a stick at."
Very exciting tweet there from Raine. I assume that means the single is a song we've never heard before... and also Raine seems to understand how much the fans love his falsetto, people have been tweeting him about it constantly.
Guys falsetto it's OLP! I know that maybe Raine can be bored from this...but i think that the most of us know the band thanks to the falsetto!! However the band have shown the ability to make good stuff also without falsetto(Gravity is an amazing album in that way) but i ever miss the falsetto...and now i'm happy and exciting to hear that it's back! Thank you OLP!
Just about to post about the tweet, effin awesome news. I wonder what he means by 'working on a song', like still writing and recording or mixing? I thought they were done recording basically.

Not necessarily less noticed, given how much more commercially successful Gravity was than SM. But unique and artful records rarely sell better than generic pop ones. I think their decline in public popularity began with HIPT, not Gravity.
