Cassie, ask Josh. I'm sure he can tell you what software to use with least quality loss.

So my hard drive failed the day a backup arrived. How awesome is that? This has happened before and I recovered it but I am not sure which program to use. I googled it and I got one but it was too difficult for me to use with all the Linux commands. Any suggestions for a good program? I HAVE to get this info back.

yeah, i've been meaning to get a backup harddrive too. my computer's in perfect condition as far as i know, but i'm still paranoid about it crashing everytime i reboot it.
i don't know what's wrong with your hard drive, so i'm probably way off, but did you try system restore in safe mode?

Yeah we've tried pretty much everything. My brother is a computer geek and it was working fine at home but apparently it "got bumped" on the way home. At least that is his half assed explanation.
