Fans, can be really funny....

At the computer store i work at, our goal was to see how many fans we could mount within our sever....the thing vibrates enought to move slowly across the table. It takes two power supplies for them all

Okay, I have to say that I don't know whats up with my computer. The monitor is dark. Thats the only way to put it. Its been like this since I have had this computer (Its an old one that was cleared out) and its getting really annoying now. Nothing I do changes the colour either. Any suggestions?

Question:

How does wireless internet work? I'm asking because my mom inquired about it and the internet dude didnt seem to know what he was talking about. He also said that this wirelss internet will help speed the upload rate to share music with others. THEN he said that this new wireless internet will not help us download music faster. I'm no computer dude but, this doesnt make sense and calls for a :Johnathan:

are you talking about setting up a wireless network?

Nope. What we are trying to get in highspeed internet, instead of using dial-up. The thing is, my town can't get high speed internet using phone lines. The major ISP's don't seem interested in setting up out here. So. the only way is wireless. I'll post the link for you.

well that diagram is similar to how wireless internet work....they give you a wireless adapter to connect to your computer and that wirelessly connects to their antenna....a downside is that walls and the weather decreases the signal quality, sometimes significantly

Yeah, they said that they'll need to hook-up a dish here and aim at there tower. ITs gonna cost lots though. $200-$400 to get it installed :freak:

Currently we do not throttle your bandwidth with the exception of abusers and services like Kaza and Morpheus. Our backbone speeds are always being increased as our subscriber base increases and we are always working on optimizing our network.

Ummm, what do they mean by that?

the best way to describe that is to picture a hose..
water goes through the hose at a set rate, when they throttle it, basically its like using a smaller hose or a smaller hole for the hose if you will.. a better description would be the hole..
they already do it for stuff like morpheus and kazaa so you cant d/l at rediculous rates.. which most services already do so others can use the comp still and not be slowed down by dls

Ahhh, So They'll basically slow down the download rate?
