Smoke down Jim, it's smoke down.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

but the problems i create don't happen to start turf wars amongst drug gangs and kidnapping

yes they do. when was the last time you heard of a cigarette gang war? you don't. that's because cigarette companies can use legal means to go after their foes, and they can advertise their product out in the open.

think about it. you're a dealer, and another dealer robs you. how do you respond? you can't call the cops so you have to deal with it yourself.

you'd be suprised what you can buy on the side of the street especially down here. this guy used to sell satelite dishes at an old abandoned gas station. other people sell watermelons, another guy does winshield ding repair. you can sell stuff on the side of the road, none of these people get in any trouble, why would you?

and these legal cigarette tactics, how many of them invole shootouts and kidnappings? i'd steal my stuff back and maybe a little more for my troubles. then again serves me right for doing something as stupid as having drugs with the intent of selling.[/quote]

reno, it's not the personality of drug dealers, or whatever you think, that causes them to resort to violence. it's the lack of choice. they can't sue or advertise, or call the cops if they get ripped off. if one of their employees quits, he might fink on them, so he's got to go, etc. etc.

yes it is the personality of dealers that make them savage. because they have crap that is illegal makes them nervous, makes them irrational, makes them overly cautious.

the truth is they're just godamn lazy. Maquilladoras cross the border and work in US companies, pay US taxes, and EARN US money. Even most illegal aliens cross over and make a living. I know one that used to live under a tree, him, his wife, two daughters and son, and he said living under a tree was still better then living in fear in Mexico. Drug dealers just look for the easy way out, they look for an excuse to not get dirty and work, and drug habbits allow it.

I've smoked once. Didn't think I was high, but apparently I was. Sorry this has nothing to do with your discussion on why it is illegal.

if drug dealers weren't holding something illegal then reno, it would make them more logical and rational. if weed were legal, the drug dealers would become legit businessmen. you just defeated your whole arguement against legalization with your own statement.

I was thinking about something like that yesterday. My friends spend fucking loads of money on "weed". I can't help but be disgusted with them.

Is it me, or did it get a lot more condescending in this thread?

Look at what's been said in this thread. Face it, no matter how dumb you might think it is, people are going to do it. There's no reason to say it's stupid and a waste of money, because we can't stop people from smoking.

:wtf: the stuff that I've said hasn't been a campaign to get people to freakin stop.......I've only been trying to state the facts. I again will call it a waste of money because thats exactly what it is. Unless you're terminally ill and your DOC says it would be a good idea, I consider weed to be nothing but a waste.

You know its a waste when you even hear people who smoke bitching that they spend too much money on it 'n stuff......c'mon now.

I'm not a proponent for weed or anything, and both sides of this arguement are pretty much pointless. As much as we don't like what people do, it still gets done. That's the way life works.

when prohabition ended, where do you think bootleggers went to for a check? they went no where. they didn't apply for work, they became lazy in their easy money plots, just like the drug gangs are. not a sinlge bootlegger made himself a legitamate buisness out of selling alcohol, they just turned to other ways of cheep money. if you legalize this drug, they'll only go looking for a faster way to make money, they won't become legit what so ever.

not only that but you'll have private growers that government can't regulate. with alcohol, there's alot of componets that need to go into making the moonshine itself, and even then, it raises suspicion when you buy all the products to make your special brew. with pot, all you need is seeds, dirt, water, and light.

so? the governments not regulating it now. and who gives a shit if the government can regulate it or not? regulation only makes stuff worse.

the fact is, even if dealers didn't turn into productive citizens, at least they'd stop killing people.
