= exactly the melodrama I was talking about.

whatever though, maybe it'll be the end of the world, let's watch and see.

a) I never said it would be the end of the world. Being worried about the state of one's country is not an overreaction.

b) way to talk about the issues. At least I have an opinion about it, rather than going around telling people their opinion is too dramatic. You want to talk about the issues, fine, let's do it. You're just telling everyone they're being melodramatic without anything relevent to back up your claims. These are issues that are important to me. Caring about them is hardly melodramatic. I'm sorry if you're completely apathetic about what goes on with the country.

P.S. Yes, I just called you apathetic. Prove me wrong by giving your view on the issues rather than telling me that it's not a big deal.

so according to that site Kingston (as well as Ontario, actually) will likely remain Liberal. Good news.

Bad news? Nationally it's looking like a Conservative victory.

Rob, I agree with you on all the issues that you've talked about. I also believe strongly that we need a more democratic electoral system such as proportional representation. I believe that we need to adjust our immigration policies dramatically to deal with the impending problems of underpopulation. I believe that something needs to be done about increasing gun violence across the country. I believe that marajuana should be decriminilized. I believe that we need to find more markets for trade. I believe that post-secondary education should be free. I believe that we need to meet the conditions of the Kyoto accord and go far beyond it. And as such, I am voting for the party that comes closest to my beliefs. I have also become a member of the green party and will be actively campaigning with them in the future. And if stephen harper starts messing with our rights, I'll be on the front line of the protests.

'the end of the world' was a figure of speech called a hyperbole. And I am NOT apathetic.

but I also respectfully accept the opinions of my fellow canadians, and if they elect a conservative government, all I can do is hope for the best for the future and do all I can to help this country be as good as it can be.

But why are people voting conservative? Aside from the Conservatives on this board, the widespread reason is "change".

You act as if Harper won't do anything in office, though. And I whole heartedly disagree.

Did you know that Harper published a letter in US newspapers apologizing for Canada's refusal to join in the war in Iraq? Where do you think he'll be sending our troops?

You think any harm done is repairable? Tell that to the innocent people marked for death in the crosshairs of Harper's army. Tell the dying children who did nothing wrong, aside from being born in the same area as the "terrorists" being hunted down. Tell them it's only four years.

you hit on the one thing that really scares me about harper - is he going to send troops to Iraq and support other US led military initiative? maybe. But, there would be a great deal of backlash if it did happen, and no politician wants the people against him whether he's a self-serving right wing ass or not. So I'm going to hope that he doesn't do anything stupid like that, and I'll protest it if he does.

I'm fucking freaking out, which station has George and Matt on it? CBCNEWSWORLD? All the CBC's i have show as showing teh same thing!

I've been trying to figure that out to. I have no fucking clue.

Someone on MBlog commented that the times Matt quoted were wrong since everythings results-related (which apparently includes the Hour), won't be aired until after the polls close, so all the shows will be pushed back. I've just been checking back and forth between CBC and CBCNewsworld.

Also, Matt said this on his blog (about being on the set of The Hour):
"As an aside, Kenny Hotz has decided to spread the rumour that Alan Arkin is dead. What that has to do with the election, I have no idea, but both Jeremy Taggart and I think it interestingly original."

Looks like Jer will be on it too! :D

Okay, now CBC and CBCNewsworld are doing the same coverage. I would imagine that they will be throwing to The Hour throughout the show.

NOPE!

It's on now! CBC.

Matt was wrong. It's a part of the general election coverage. They will be going back to George every now and then throughout the show.

I think I just saw Jer 2 minutes ago as they panned a crowd before George spoke...

And I'm happy because Eastern Canada results are in and Liberals only lost 3 seats compared to last time. The Conservatives expected to pick up more than 3 extra seats
