Yes but people dont consciously over eat so they can hurt themselves. Theres a huge difference between taking a knife to yourself and having a bad diet.

From a book I'm reading now from 1998, 1,400 out of every 100,000 people in the US have done some sort of self-injury, but the numbers are growing.

Sometimes people do it as a way to try and block out their emotional pain. Some think that they "deserve" it so it's a way of punishing themselves. It may be to feel somewhat in control. The blood may comfort them...they may feel as if it's the only thing there for them. A high amount of people with eating disorders also self-injure. Sorry for writing a lot...I just felt as if I had to try and explain. *shrugs*

Guy: Her locker's down the hall, I've counted 17 from mine.
Girl: Does he see me? Does he even know that I'm close by?
Guy: We're in the hallway, always at half past nine.
Girl: Would he ever get to know me? Would he take the time?

people who self injure don't necessarily have a low self opinion of themselves or have low self esteem .. i know that has nothing to do with why i've done it .. it's a release, it has nothing to do with how i feel about myself .. it's not a healthy way of dealing with your feelings but it's a way that works .. i'd rather take my frustrations and pain out on myself rather then out on someone else .. at least that's how i look at it.

Sometimes I think that I have just gotten used to emotional pain, so it doesn't effect me as hard; I'm almost numb. That, and physical pain scares the shit out of me.

It's a sad, sad situation. Alan, and everyone else who is going through something like that, we are all here for you.

I love how someone actually compared cutting one's wrist to a bad diet. Obviously that makes sense. Fucking retard.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Happy Birthday!

Why do people insist on dancing at a bowling alley?! It's not a freaking club! It's a bowling alley!

God had to pee. It's cold, so, on the way down, His pee changed form into snow.

So, when you catch a snowflake on your tongue, it's really a pee drop.
