It's true. Not to mention the Live From Boston 2001 DVD is the greatest concert DVD ever.

I was going to go to that show..I know afew people who went up to the show.. There was this whole controversary on that taping..
Something about the FANS who were on line all night for the front were told that they had to wait to go in so they oculd bring in more photogentic people. When they got inside the arena they sat down as a protest to the unfairness. it was a big deal within the U2 circles that taping..

Bono Nominated For This Year’s Nobel Peace Prize
Friday February 18, 2005 @ 04:30 PM
By: ChartAttack.com Staff
Bono
All of Bono’s hard work has not gone unnoticed this year. The U2 frontman has been nominated for a 2005 Nobel Peace Prize.
The singer is one of 166 nominees that are up for this year’s prize. Others on the list include Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar, Pope John Paul II and former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell (who we're sure was nominated as a practical joke. Good one, Nobel organizing committee!).
The prize winner will be announced this October and will receive the award on December 10. The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded 10 million Swedish crown — $1.76 million Canadian.
Nominees are not supposed to be named, but hey, you know the media, they'll print anything they get their hands on that says "confidential." Although the deadline has passed, more nominations are expected to come in late and the organizing committee can add names at the last minute.
Last year the prize went to Wangari Maathai of Kenya for her work in Africa's tree planting movement. According to Reuters, there is a good chance this year’s winner will have been involved in relief efforts for the South Asian tsunami.
Bono has been a social activist for many years now. His primary campaign has been to get industrialized nations to drop the debts owed to them by Third World countries. He helped get 24 million signatures on a worldwide petition and $100 billion was lifted from the overall debt figure. He has also been involved with organizations such as NetAid, WarChild and DATA (Debt, AIDS and Trade in Africa).

WOAH. That'd be insanely cool.
I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to the Nobel Prize... have any musicians ever gotten it in the past?

My math prof sang Kenny Rogers to us and then told us how to use his songs to solve math equations.
And Bono was nominated last year as well I think.
