i dunno, i don't understand that. this is just me theorizing, but voldemort couldn't touch harry before because his mother's sacrifice left a mark on him. he was full of a power that voldemort despised - love. voldemort gets over this by taking harry's blood. but i think the "protected while he can still call home the place where his mother's blood dwells" is a separate part of the protection. voldemort can touch him outside privet drive, but not while he's still at privet drive. in any case, though, he is protected while he stays at privet drive because dumbledore says so at the end of the fifth book.

also something to think about, voldemort takes harry's blood, so he also takes lily's blood. lily's blood is the one with the protection, and it's the one that is full of love. i dunno what it means, but it's probably very significant. the fact that voldemort can touch harry now means that he's got a little bit of love in him now. maybe

Two separate spokespeople for Jo Rowling told TLC today that all these bookstore "memos" going around telling people to expect an announcement on the release date of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in early- to mid-January are completely uninformed. "If there was an announcement about to be made early next year no one would know about it," one said. Another: "When there's news it will be on JKR's site," and anything else is pure speculation. That's not to say that it's out of the question that an announcement isn't far off, just that if there is one, the news would never reach a bookstore before being on JKR's site. Also: She is definitely still writing (as she said on her site!) and it would take a little while after handing the book in to determine a date.

And from what we at TLC know of the process behind setting one of these dates, we expect only one thing: to be completely surprised.

Well, get as excited as you want, guys...there it is, right from the source, it is no longer accurate to say finishing book six is "not going to happen very soon." We don't know if it means the book IS done or just CLOSE to done, if it means we'll get a release date or just a notification that she's done...but there's no doubt the change was made. One more time: We have NO IDEA what this means other than the change was made. Theorize away. (It certainly lends credence to the theory that something big is coming to JKR.com on Christmas day.)

On the 4th movie:

"Producer David Heyman reports 75% of the shooting is finished. "We just had the 120th day of shooting from 160 planned....

The under water scenes were tricky....constantly three divers were swimming around Dan to provide him with oxygen. But as soon as the cameras were rolling he had to hold his breath - sometimes for nearly two minutes!"
