don't be such a snob.

movies and books are entirely different mediums, you can't hold the standards for one against another.

i wouldn't have had this problem if i didn't read the book the other day, i had no problem with the other 2 movies because i didn't read the book the day before it came out in theaters. Again I probly would have liked it more had i not red the book the other day.

I loved it. This one felt, unlike the first two, like an actual movie.

If that makes any sense.
I just wanna get out,

^ yeah i've heard that a lot, and i agree. he actually looked at it as an actual movie this time, which i don't think the other director did in the first two.

With the first two it felt like they were trying really hard to not piss off the fans. With the third it felt like they were trying really hard to make a good movie.

the only bad thing is that anyone who didn't read the book probably didn't get anything out of the movie, since the Mooney, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs bit not being explained.

without reading the book, who's going to understand why the hell Harry shot an elk out his wand?

^ more of why i didn't like it, did any one else notice him doing magic in the begining of the movie under his sheet, wouldn't he have gotten expelled for that?

Are you meaning me? I'm sorry I didn't mean to seem like a snob, it's just like you said though. People get so upset there are cool things about books and there are cool things about movies. You just have to think of it that way or else you will always be disappointed. That's all I meant :(

Yes, me and my friend discussed this in great length and that's one of the things that she was upset about. How did Lupin know how to work the map and what it did? Why was his patronus a stag? Who the crap are Mooney, Padfoot, Wormtail, and Prongs? Etc....We think that they are using it as leverage for the next movie and that it wil be exlained. It's still very confusing even without those details. I was sitting next to a little kid and the whole time he was like Mommy, why this and why that?

I saw it tonight.

It wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be (waaay too much hype), but it wasn't as bad as people told me it was.

I had to explain stuff to one of my friends after the movie, though.

The whole thing had plot holes left right and center. But aside from that I think there was a lot of bad film making in general. I mean, it opened with him doing magic. Thats obviously a step in the right direction. ack.

Anyways, the whole thing had a lot of stupid elements that seemed cheesy. Like the seasons changing. Was that supposed to be symbolic? Because it looked to me like a leaf falling off a tree and a bird exploding. Rather stupid and unnecessary.

And then the fact that they relied on the audience reading the book for things like the maruders and what not seemed really unnecessary. I have talked to people who are fans of the movies and haven't read the books and they said that was confusing. But they didn't really care about it. Thats not a good sign. How good can it be to have an audience not follow certain important elements in a movie?!

And for the record, the ending was cheezy and crappy. It went downhill after the hairless dog/spider monkey thing they called a werewolf. And then the firebolt?! That was incredibly lame. It was like they tacked it in on the end. The Firebolt had no importance. No one who didn't read the books understood the importance of the Firebolt. They just thought it was a replacement broom.

I don't think this movie was darker in any way. Having Harry cry over hearing Sirius was his godfather was just plain weird. The Dementors were cheezy and unrealistic. And Daniel Radcliffe is an absolutely horrific actor. I would rather Keanu Reeves who has two expressions. Since there was so little emotion, not a lot seemed "darker" then the other movies, they just occured in the night time.

But I'll say this. I thought the movie was going to be horrible, so I was pleasently surprised when it was just bad. It had way too much cheeze for my liking and was very choppy....but not as awful as I thought it was going to be.

I laughed at so much of it that I did enjoy myself.

And the Twins became hot. When did that happen?!

lol anyways. I wouldn't see it again. But I didn't want to in the first place. So yeah.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

The seasons changing was just a way to signify when things were happening. Without that, it would seem like it took place over a period of a few days. The Whomping Willow hitting the birds was for humor. The Firebolt thing did seem a bit tacked on. And I thought the cheesiest line, but I laughed was when Hermione was watching herself and she asked if that is what her hair really looked like from the back  Oh yes...and Daniel Radcliff crying was really not good. But didn't ruin the movie for me.

i kinda had high hopes for this movie, mostly for the quidditch because it is my favourite part of the books, and they only had 5 minutes of it in the whole movie. and because of this i didn't laugh at any of the funny parts because i was mad about no quidditch.

I noticed that. Everyone grew up a lot.

I think Neville looks really awkward.

neville doesn't look right anymore...

i didn't like how the movie barely had any quidditch at all!

i know many things needed to be cut but it felt like soooooo much was missing...but hey, what can you do.

i loved the movie.
