After reading all this about him being pinned and such. I am inclined to remember about bias in the papers, and always checking with other sources. Perhaps it is written to be misleading, so it sounds worse than it was. As it is written it sounds as if the police killed him in cold blood, but there is probably more we are missing.

PInned is misleading. According to latest reports. The guy was tagged from his home. He was wearing a heavy cloak. He jumped the barriers to the tube. He refused calls from armed police to stop and attempted to board a train. The police shot him as he attempted to board the train.

Well if that's how it happened, then it's perfectly understandable.
This is why you should never run from the police.

They shot him 8 times. That really was too much. And the police were plain clothes so who knows what he thought was going on/who they were.

Apparently they shot him so many times so that the body didn't twitch and set off anything. But I don't know the truth in that, or have a good source, or anything.

Usually police must identify themselves as a police officer, so they probably shouted "stop, police!" or something. They have a shoot to kill policy invoked I saw on the news, so that's probably why they shot 8 times.

not only shoot to kill, but to aim for the head. In case there's a bomb in his coat they could trigger by shooting his chest.

It's only shoot to kill if they have good reason to think he's about to blow himself up.
I know we don't know all the details, but I still don't like it.

Apparently now they're saying that he didn't wear a bulky coat, and that he didn't jump over the turnstiles...

This puddle is so muddy now I wonder if we will ever get a clear picture.
Also ... how does this have anything to do with racial profiling? The guy was a Brazilian and looked nothing like an Arab.
