I used to have a useless key on my old keyboard. It was white with no writing on it, and did absolutely nothing.
I wanted to switch it out with an "any" key.

So today I finally gave in to the little AIM message that says "do you want to upgrade now?". and ever since then my internet connection hangs after somewhere between 20 and 25 minutes of being online. And if I have AIM or MSN open I have to kill them as they get their knickers in a twist. And then I have to restart my PC before the internet will work again.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on or things I could try to sort this out?
I already did a virus scan which picked up a couple of things, but I don't think that's made a difference. Waiting 20 minutes each time i try something is a real pain

uninstal aim, and delete the aim files, I recomend saving a copy of your aim registry too, then instal with a previous version. I have one that works fine, with dead aim too, in my hub share if you want.

once i was like you, young Robhopper, then i attempted aim, hated the interface, but fell in love with its simple and friendly little smileys and practical dialogue layout. then i proceeded to use it solely to speak with boots, and occasionally brad. in conclusion, my life's story has very little to do with anything going on in here and so i am going to move on to my primary reason for being here:
my mp3 player won't play anything in m4a (they become blank tracks) which, i know, DUH, *mp3* player, but anyways, my question is, how do i convert my m4a tracks into mp3? preferably without having to download one more stupid single-use program kthxbye <3

Somehow when AIM upgraded itself it also downloaded some kind of gaming software thingamyjig that was the cause of teh problem. I uninstalled that and now everything is fine. Yay:D

If you're talking about downloaded songs in iTunes, convert it with JHymn.
http://www.hymn-project.org/jhymndoc/
Please note that it doesn't have support for iTunes 6 yet. Apple is always shutting the door on them, but hey I say if you buy it you should be able to do whatever the heck you want with it.
I've used this program since I started using iTunes, mainly because my car has an MP3 player and I should have the option to listen to my songs whenever I want. If you need any help using it, send me a PM, but it's pretty straightforward.
