hummus and pita.....ahhh.....

I live like 5 minutes from one of the largest arabic-american populations in the country.

Where do you get your stuff from, La Shish?

aaaaaaaaah la shish has the best hummus ever but thier food is so frigging expensive...we just get ours from the store. you know what else i just thought of because you mentioned la shish........mmmmmmm.......falafel  i can't help my addiciton to middle-eastern food cuz there are a lot of jewish and arabic people in my community and their food is just too flipping good

you know what else im addicted to? greek food. my best friend is 2nd generation greek so she always has good food in her house...including triopitas (only with potates instead of all cheese...my favorite food of all time)

la shish isn't expensive!!! I get a chicken shwarma sandwich and a water for like 3.50. and you get free bread too! That bread is the best bread I've ever eaten in my life!

you should move to Dearborn! There's like 10 arabic restaurants within 10 minutes of my house.

I used to crave la shish like crazy when I was at school. ok. that's the ONLY thing that I like about Downriver, lol. the access to good food.

at the halfass (the little cafe in the basement of our dorm), we can get a big tub of oasis hummus and pita for a meal credit. it's good, but it doesn't beat la shish.

My regret for the day:

Very early this morning the Rolling Stones announced a secret one-off show tonight at Toronto's Palais Royale. The Stones -- as they have on their last 2 tours -- have been rehearsing in Toronto for a few months now. These surprise club gigs are a part of the rehearsal and not uncommon.

The historic Palais Royale holds about 800. For tonight's show, it is first-come first-serve and admission is $10. On the fall tour, tickets are going for over $2000 (USD) each for close seats.

And I could have been there tonight! :|

I was driving to work on Lakeshore Blvd (my usual route - I pass by this venue every day) at 8 am. The annoucement was made a few hours prior, I heard it on the radio and didn't think much of it. When I drove passed Palais Royale though, there were only ~40 people in line! It was so tempting. So I stopped and called one of my co-workers seeking advice. She said she could cover for me at work if I want to get in line. But for some reason, I said "screw it!" and kept driving in to work.

What I gave up is finally sinking in. I'm not a Stones fan by any means, but I want to see them just to see them. I want to tell my kids about all the legends I saw in concert. My mom still tells me about seeing the Beattles. But not only could I have seen The Rolling Stones, I could have seen them in a club for $10.

Regrets, regrets.

Ah, it'll get better :) You made it through the worst part, in my opinion! The most unpleasant event ever: waking up in a room and not knowing how I got there, feeling sick because of the drugs in me, attempting to vomit, then realizing MY MOUTH IS STUFFED WITH BLOODY GAUZE. That was my wisdom teeth experience.

Hey, but 24 hours after, I was able to eat a sandwich. You'll make it. :)

If OLP were playing in Kingston, I'd pay $2000 for front-row center and backstage passes.

That would be, of course, if I found a bag of cash laying around somewhere...

Even buying front row tickets off of a scalper wouldn't cost $2000 .. that's just insane .. I don't think any band is worth $2000. Gah I had to pay $50 for the MWB concert just to see OLP and I thought that was crazy but it was for charity so it was worth it.

It would be neat if OLP did do private parties .. I know Great Big Sea has that option, you can book them .. I wonder how much it would cost though.

I woke up during the precedure, they hadn't finished it and he told me to go back to sleep so I did .. then the next time I woke up and with a little help I just walked right over to the recovery room and laid down and kept playing with that little thing they put on your finger so the nurse kept running in .. it was funny .. then like 15-20 minutes later I went home .. mine weren't taken out at a hospital so it was quicker I think.

lol. sorry for scaring you.

I just got one of mine out today, and I have to get the other 3 out during Christmastime. seriously, it doesn't hurt that much to get them out, it's just the stuff after that causes problems sometimes. They prescribed some pain medicine stuff for me that made me feel all loopy at first, but I'm ok now, and it made my mouth feel much better. I can open my mouth now!! woo hoo!
