Reily, I totally understand your frustration with this believe me, and its gotta be a bummer for sure. But I cant really say much more than I already have - It sucks for everyone involved.

This whole tour was based around SM and what the fans wanted, and now many of us are getting shafted, and nothing is being done and no effort made to make us feel appreciated.

I get why your upset - ultimately you are not getting what you wanted (and likely won't ever be). I am pissed because even though I had tickets to SM in Winnipeg I can't go because something more important with my bf came up. However, this is just a very new development so it may not be the time to state that "no effort made to make us feel appreciated" because maybe there will be some effort in the next couple days? I guess I'm just an optimist.

I guess my idea of going to Regina SM is done - oh well, life sucks sometimes!

I guess i glossed over this but...

"no effort made to make us feel appreciated"

I dont really understand that? A LOT of time, effort, resources and most importantly passion goes into everything OLP and from what I have seen and what my experiences have shown the ultimate goal with everything seems to be making the existing fans happy and maybe score some new ones along the way. I know that is my goal in everything I do for OLP and I am sure it is the goal of everyone else involved.

just to play devils advocate for a second - say a show, any show is canceled due to poor ticket sales - who is to blame then? i mean can a band/performer etc say - "well they must hate us there, they dont appreciate us, what are they going to do to make this up to us?"

I mean that is not fair, no one is to blame when things like this happen. Does it suck? fucking right it does - is there anything anyone can do about it a this point? unfortunately no :(

i know for a fact a lot of time and effort went into planning this tour - as you can imagine its no easy task to find a large enough but intimate setting for this tour that is available for 2 nights in each city. Then try finding 2 places like that in each city for 2 separate nights? well you can imagine what a nightmare that could turn into....unfortunately timing is not on a tours side - this stuff gets booked months and months out - so trying to change venues on this scale a few weeks out is next to impossible.

Also in regards to changing venues - Matt Good did it no problem here when there was a sudden worker's strike at the original venue for his show. He found a new venue, he didn't cancel his show. I even think that was in a shorter time frame...I think it occurred a week away from the concert.

And Regina has tons of venues. I'm not saying, oh, change the venue for every effing show on the tour. No, just CONSIDER changing it if the ticket sales aren't going to fill a big venue in a certain city, and consider changing to a smaller venue. If this tour is for the fans, a way should be found to ensure the show goes on, whether the issue is a scheduling conflict or poor ticket sales.

Yeah, the last 2 times Matt Good was here he changed venues. One time was due to a worker's issue, and the other time was a scheduling issue. Both times the schedule was moved about a week before. One time to a bar, the other time to the Western Christian College's theatre, which was awesome.

Heck, I'll host them in my living room for an acoustic set.

I just want to hear Spiritual Machines performed front to back. It's their best album, and what all the hardcore fans have been waiting for. I just don't want to look back 20 years from now after OLP has disbanded and think "I never got to hear my favourite song played live (wonderful future), or their best album."

I know it's unfortunate, Riley, but it's not that big of a deal... I live in PE so the closest venue to me that had SM was in Montreal... so I didn't get to see it either, but I saw some great quality Youtube clips of the songs, and for me that was good enough. And I got to see the Clumsy show in Halifax.

I guess there's nothing to be done about it now, and Trusty won't listen any more, according to the other thread.

I'd like to see how this is going to be made up to us, like TW said it would. Or maybe that was another empty promise.

Riley, I don't see where he promised that OLP would make it up to you. He said they have in the past, but didn't promise that they would this time.

No, he didn't promise it. To be honest, I wouldn't expect it either. Those of us west of Toronto don't really get anything special from OLP.

The biggest leg of this entire tour, a tour decided by and designed for the fans is all taking place west of toronto, I think that is pretty special, don't you? :)

Riley, seriously... Saskatchewan is getting two shows (yes, they're both Clumsy, but that's not the point). There were ZERO shows in PEI, Newfoundland, and New Brunswick, which amounts to 3 of the 4 Atlantic provinces. There was only one show in Nova Scotia, for one night, Clumsy. Please.

Not to mention that little place called... the USA I think? You know, the place where the lead singer LIVES? Only like 2 shows in that entire country... lol :P

I think they're playing more shows this tour than they have on any of their big Canadian tours since 1998. Want disappointing? Go back to 2002.

Not to be an ass, but you need to suck it up and stop being so immature about the whole situation.
