Bitch.
Maybe we could share her? Or maybe Yannic will want to experiment around with me too....or a threesome? What do you two say to that?

okay...so i need some advice from anyone who takes the time to read this....cause i dont know what to do....so here goes....
i really like a girl i work with....we get along amazing and have been hanging out outside of work quite a bit lately....we have grown closer and closer over the last few months and we pretty much talk everyday.....now comes the time for the problem....she is much too young for me....I just turned 24, and she is not quite 18 (will be in 4.5 months)...i would normally never pursue a girl that age, and have actually turned them down in the past based purely on age....but it started out just as friends, but my feelings have grown and i want to pursue being more than just friends (and im confident she feels the same way)....but do i wait till she turns 18....or do i just forget it altoghether...i dont know what to do...cant change my feelings....and the age difference isnt really what bothers me cause i dont even notice it....its the age she is now that is the only problem for me....but its just a number....ugh....i dont know....someone help me please>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you genuinely like her, and you get along amazingly... who cares about age? It's just a number, and she's old enough to know what's good for her. I say go for it.

As long as she feels the same I'd go for it. I have a friend who is only 18 who is marrying a 24 year old in february. He had the same reservations at first, but I think they're awesome together.
How can a 24 year old be such a relationship phob?

if you use the half plus 7 rule, hands off.

that rule is the best rule ever... who made up that rule?

Wow, it totally does work.
Except I'm in the EXACT same situation. I'm 17, and I'm going to call up a 24-year old tonight. Though we're just friends. But still.

So I can't date anyone under 19. Good to know.

well you could, you'd just be breaking the rule.

I won't date anyone younger than me anymore, period.

Me neither. Well, i never would. Hell, I refuse to date anyone born the same year as me or younger.

Wouldn't it be 18 for you? You're (almost) 22, divided in half is 11, plus 7 is 18...

There's a different rule for girls. I forget what it is, though.

well rules are stupid.
if you're this concerned, it means you care about her enough not to do anything that would make the age gap a problem. just be mellow about the whole thing, and don't get too intense for a while.

Exactly. I think the rules are pretty rediculous anyways.
The question of age-gap in a relationship has a lot to do with the intentions of the people involved. And from what you've said, it's clear to me that you have nothing but the best of intentions.
I think the best thing that you can do is be open with her and talk to her about it. Just leave it open, and let her decide what she's comfortable with. Maybe she'd rather wait until she's 18. Maybe she wants a relationship right away. In any case, I think open conversation and honesty is what you need.

If you like her that much, then ask her out. The age gap isn't that bad, and she's way past the legal age of consent for a relationship. If you both like each other, then date her, you're both adults.
