How would I go about reinstalling sound card drivers?

find the proper one, and then install it.

interesting concept. I think the only flaw in my plan is not knowing where the hell to locate one. Maybe on a cd marked IMPORTANT? I should probably wait until someone with computer knowhow arrives, but I want to watch Mac now, darnit!

you could try looking around for the original soundcard driver you got. there's also lots of drivers on the net. just google up "sound card driver" and you should find something useful.

uninstall the old drivers and install the new ones... and if you don't now nothing about your sound card download a program called "Everest Home Edition" and look in the sound card information :)

...reinstalled the driver (it was on the cd marked important) and it turns out that wasn't the problem. Phooey.
Now I need a new soundcard, it seems.

Well, the problem is gone now. And I'm one puzzled Andrea. Maybe I had to restart 2/3 times before the reinstallation would work? I dunno?

once again I'm having trouble with downloaded television episodes. I can't get the audio to play, on a file with Windows Media Audio V2. Does anyone know what kind of plug-in I'd use to fix that?

You need a codec... which one, I have no idea... which is why I use a codec pack instead of installing codecs every time I need one. :duncan:
