I thought I'd drag up this dead thread for the sole purpose of saying OMG I MET THE DRESDEN DOLLS:
Best concert I've ever been to, by far.

They're both SO nice, too. It was SO FUCKING AWESOME. They played fuckin' "Kaledrina" for the first time live EVER. Aaaah, it was a week ago, and I'm still high from it.

Awesome! I hear they're winning over some NIN fans, which is amazing.

On Friday, the Dresden Dolls declared all trade-bans to no longer be in effect. Basically, they're a taper friendly band, but asked that bootleg recordings of a particular group of songs not be traded or shared online.
But now it's okay, so go download them!

Oh and about that show last May...
They were really good. I enjoyed the album when I downloaded it ahead of time, but live they were just spectacular. Brian is a really talented drummer, fun to watch. Amanda's great too.
Kym thought they were wayyyyyyyy better than Nine Inch Nails. She doesn't like Nine Inch Nails.
Half Jack is amazing live.
I was hoping for the Karma Police cover, but they didn't do it that night. Damn! Oh well, perhaps I'll see Radiohead play that song when I see them. Perhaps.
People were handing out some Girl Anachronism/Bad Habit promo discs after the show, and the Dresden Dolls were signing them (although the crowd was very unorganized... took forever to get them signed). Kym and I got 2 discs each, 1 to keep unopened and 1 to have them sign. I told Brian that he was great, when I handed him my CD to sign. Then I confused him, when Kym handed me her CD to hand to him, so when he looked back up I still had a CD in my hand.
If I had been aware of their recording policy, I wouldn't have bothered trying to hide the mics still on my glasses, and I would have asked them where I should send the band's copy of my recording to. But I didn't know they were alright with recording...

No pictures though, the Soma security people will kick you out if they see you with a digital camera. Seriously.

Also, apparently their new album "Yes, Virginia" has leaked. :O
Also, I am trying to see if I can help get a Direct Connect hub started for sharing their live material in lossless formats.
