Damn, Simpsons has lost it's timing though. That duck thing went on about five seconds too long (which is actually a long period of time on a half-hour TV show), and it became very unfunny. I laughed out loud the first time, and again the second time, but I was done laughing long before Ralph was done "duck"ing.

Family Guy pulls shit like that all the time though. Like Peter stubbing his toe and "owww, ffff, owww, ffff" -ing for like a minute and a half

Yes, but with that scene in Family Guy, they made the transition from funny to annoying and back to funny. Ralph's scene seemed pretty slapped-together, and ended abbruptly during the first point where the joke seemed uneasy and stretched out.
I find that the best use of the repeated joke is with something like the "You're a big fat phoney!" guy. They do it a lot at the start of the show, and then just as you forget about it, they bring him back at the end.
I'm downloading The Simpsons right now, so I haven't seen the Ralph thing yet... but I agree with the Family Guy taking things and going on too long thing. Simpsons writers are probably just trying to do that cos for some reason people like it on FG. I find it annoying.

you're totally right. They both have done it. It doesn't make it any less funny this time either. However, my brother and I both said that it would have been way funnier if Millhouse was still listening in on the speaker phone and said "Say goose already you stupid freak!" and Ralph would run out crying again. When Bart said it, it was funny, so it would have been really funny after Ralph doing that for really long time, you hear Millhouse on the speakerphone make Ralph cry.
The episode over all really wasn't that good though... so far the second episode is by far the best.
This one kinda made me mad that they brought back Nelson's dad. They had him in extremely minor rolls in a few episodes over the years, but he was originally voiced by the late Phil Hartman and like the other Hartman characters, he should have been written out IMO.
