I honestly like the live version better.
Maybe it will grow on me with each listen.

I think I may have had my hopes up too high, since Matt Good didn't disappoint me.

i agree, in the live one there was so much energy
now it sounds all dead and cheesy
hopefully the rest of the album wont be like this
turn your head
come back again
to here knows when

So ... I've listened to it a few times now. There are bits I like and bits I don't like and bits that just screw with my head cos I'm so used to the live versions (especially the ones with Mike). I'm still not happy with the lyrics, I think that's the main problem. It would be interesting to hear this version live to see what it's like when it has more of its original energy back.

I'm off to listen to the new MG album now though.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Well... I honestly think it fits a "Meh," category. When I first heard it, I was just waiting and waiting and waiting for the zillion 'more, more, more...' things...

What's really buggin me is obviously the glockenspiel/whatever-it-is that's playing in the background... to me it really makes the song a bit more cheesy than it should be... it gives the song a touch of a weird "inspirational" feeling that soooooo should not be there.
"if the nuremberg trials were applied to us foreign policy, every us president since 1945 would have been hanged." noam chomsky.

...and this is me hanging on / i'd burn our initials in the sun if it would shine / anxiety chokes me like razor wire / if hate's in your heart man, you'll take what you're given / wake up / i'm not the only one / it's never goodbye / go ahead and play dead / if everyone's a casualty, then take your time, there ain't no trouble / these wounds they will not heal / ambition can be a tricky thing / what the hell do i know about rape anyway? / this is not what i hoped for / ain't it so weird how it makes you a weapon / who will be there to tell me how stupid i am? / those living for death will die by their own hand / and it's me that I am spying on / pick up the pieces and live with the stars / hurry up and wait / things have never been so swell / they're always the ones who slowly drift / be great / ...and this is my world.

Whoah. It sounds better when it's turned up. Not that it could get too much worse. So, now it's starting to grow on me. But it's still not as good as the live version from the Junos.

I've been blaring it from the first time I listened. Maybe that's why I like it so much. ;)

And, yes, I like Gravity. :GASP: :P

36 hours its been on Winamp playlist by itself, save for a quick listen of Matt Good's new songs.

I just meant it sounds like someone is sitting there playing the xylophone, I obviously dont actually know what it is.

It reminds me of that SNL skit, "MORE COWBELL!"

Meh. I'm not too impressed, honestly I'm more interested in the new MG right now....I just hope the new album will be a little more to my liking.

Get those new Matt Good songs back on. They're amazing.

And Kruno and Miro aren't fucktards (or maybe they are, I'm not 100% sure what that means!)

Well, it's a combination of the words "fuck" and "retard".

So I'm guessing it's not a good thing. ;) :P
