i can say for a fact i never talked about ANYTHING to my father, mainly because we ARE men and we don't talk to each other about stuff like that. I didn't really talk to my parents much about puberty or sex. Other then a very awkward few times my mom tried to have a a big talk about it, and i considered blowing my brains out. Not everyone needs to ask questions, the school system here is more then good enough, and much more comfortable for everyone. And any questions i did have i would have asked my mom.

not to say of course that parents shouldn't talk to their kids about sex, kids should trust their parents and be able to be open with them, so parents know what's going on, and can inform kids so they don'tt make mistakes. I just don't think it needs to be a dad.

Just having the sex talk isn't the only example that a father sets for a son.

meh i'm not going to deny that my father had an influence on me, but it was an influence as a person and a parent think and not a man though. He's always been pretty laid back. I learned morals and how to be a good person from both of my parents. Maybe i missed out on the whole learning about grunting and fishing thing. *shrugs*

I haven't said anything either, so here is my two cents. For religious purposes, I don't agree with gay marriages. If a two people of the same sex want to form a bond, then that is their choice. All I can do is speak my opinion on it, and go on living my life. I will not force my beliefs on them. I have worked with lots of folks who are gay/lesbian and they have been just as good of friends to me as anyone else. While I may not approve of their lifestyles or personal choices, I can still treat them with respect and courtesy. If this we're Matt's world, and it isn't, I would not allow the marriages. But it's not my world, and people are gonna do what people are gonna do. As far as women not being able to teach a boy about being a man, I would totally disagree. I believe a boy needs a strong male figure to influence him during early teen years, but women can sometimes teach boys just as much. So that's my opinion, and I will go to bed now.

Similar to what Axl Rose said back in the day when he was actually "cool" or whatever you consider cool, here's what rapper "50 Cent" had to say in Playboy, which is also printed in the latest Rolling Stone magazine.

This is quoted...

I ain't into faggots. I don't like gay people around me, because I'm not comfortable with what their thoughts are. I'm not prejudiced. I just don't go with gay people and kick it - we don't have that much in common. I'd rather hang out with a straight dude. But women who like women, that's cool. I could get into that, having a woman who likes women, too. We might have more in common.

He is named 50 cent, because that is 50 times his worth as a human being, and the value of the education he received. Frucking idiot *busts a cap in 50 Cent*

people keep complaining about Gay Marriages(which Ihate so I will say Same sex marriages)

I like what Howard Stern keeps saying all along. YOu know when you will know when a Gay Marriage is bad. When you have the first gay divorce. I have to agree wtih him. So many people feel that this is ruining the sanity of marriage. Please, if two people want to get married let them. I don't think sex has any baring on if a relationship is going to work or not.

Lots of Straight people are cheating on their partners, divorced, multiple marriages, etc. That to me ruins the sanity, not same sex.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

The synagogue I belong to has been debating on whether or not they should allow same sex marriages to happen in the synagogue. All members of the synagogue who were over 18 got to vote on the matter. In the end, the majority of the people voted against allowing gay marriages, because they didn't want to attract lots of gays from all over the city, since we would have been the first synagogue in Toronto to allow gays. Unfortunately, I'm not 18, so I didn't get to vote. I found it pretty stupid that people were worried about belonging to a "gay" synagogue. I'm all for same sex marriages.

Your right that is a stupid reason but regardless i'm againts gay marriage. I've said it before and i still say it but i'm not gonna argue with anyone with opposing views. Anyone who's debated in this thread knows that it leads nowhere.

Are you reform, because the reform Jewish standpoint is that gay marriage is acceptable. I lobbied in washington as part of a jewish youth program in DC and this was one of the hot topics.

a gay marriage is a happy marriage. why would we be against that?

ok, bad pun. but trying to sweep people under the rug doesn't work. when has a civil rights movement ever gone away?

interestingly, it appears that homosexuality is on the rise. it's been suggested that it might have something to do with all the different chemicals that are ending up in nature... like estrogen and estrogen-mimics. animals are affected by them, and it's ridiculous to think that we wouldn't be.

i'm not saying that it wasn't around before, btw. those romans liked their little boys.

but wouldn't it be ironic if the bush stance on the environment was contributing?

I believe engaging in a gay relationship is wrong. Does that mean i hate gays? No. Does that mean that I dont want a gay individual to live a happy life? No. Does that mean that i disagree with their choice of lifestyle? Yes.

Now before anyone trys to tell me that they dont have a choice and they were born that way and that love is love and so on, let me add that my point of view is comming from a religious standpoint. And as you've all said religion and state should be kept seperate, so if your gonna argue with me, argue from a religous standpoint not a political one because the two do not mix.
