perhaps you people have 2003 confused with the 60's..........even though this is a newspaper article, it goes to show why so many of our parents probably smoked up quite a bit back then.

hehehehe hope i was able to piss some of ya off about the whole weed/cigarette issue......I wanted to simply intrigue you with some insight.

Weed, technically, debate it how ya wanna, is worse. But as far as how people intake it......cigarettes can be FAR worse.

Here's why...

Chainsmoking hehehehe i'm logging off, the CM has now made me sleepy.

cigarettes are worse cause of all those chemicals, but weed reeks so much. both are bad. and both might as well kill you right away.

NORML - the national organization for the reform of marijuana laws

http://www.norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=3475

please be sure to check the footnotes. tar, my friend, is not the only thing in cigarettes that cause cancer. marijuana is an organic substance. therefore, it does not contain any man made chemicals. cigarettes, on the other hand....

I just don't think people should alter their mood w/ drugs. But everyone does stupid shit, so as long as they don't drive or anything, I could care less.

smoking the odd joint at a party or once a month or so is completely and utterly harmless ...

you start doing it 24 7 .. and start to rely on it, that's when I lose respect for you .. having a good time at a party and smoking it occasionally .. meh, that's fine with me and depending on my mood I'll join in.

smoking everyday, provided you use it responsibly and maintain use of proper equipment (water bongs etc.) will not have an adverse effect on your life.

people need to understand that junkies are junkies before they even touch a substance. i have a friend who is in his 4th year of honours pharmacology, on his way to pharmacy school who smokes weed nearly every day. this person will be one of the most successful individuals that i know.

in 1992, the new york times ran an interview with a high level corporate executive who had been doing heroin every weekday 4 times a day for 12 years. he had quit in early 1991 because his new wife did not approve. he quit cold turkey, did not die from heroin withdrawl and did not ever use the drug again.

you can cantrol anything. ultimately, no addiction can physically move your arm to your needle and your needle to your vein. willpower can defeat any craving. it's just a matter of having the willpower.

ok im back

yea well you know what

weed does increase thought and heightened brain activity. if you people would research what weed actually does to your brain on the chemical side instead of just listening to the fuckin media, you might learn something. but most of you have your heads jammed so far up your asses that you dont even realize most of what you're told are lies.

If you want people to take you seriously I'd refrain from calling them ignorant fucks .. you won't get anywhere by insulting someone.

Well there was a depression in the 80's. More like a recession really, but maybe that was what he was talking about.

by Ignignokt
he was trying to counterpoint me , saying there wasn't a war after the depression

so he basically thought the "great depression" happened in the 80s.

Bandalero here is gonna have to take over.

first off, smoking the "ocasional" joint is harmless. no not to you, but to others around you. if your at someone elses house for a party, and the cops happen to show up, the owner of the house is pretty muched fucked now isn't he? "blame the system!"? how about no, blame your damn social habbits. another thing about weed that affects other people, when the product (weed) is found out and confiscated, drug lords in Mexico harvest organs from kidnapped individuals. (mainly women). this has been happening for years in Juarez, Mexico. people are dying because of your addiction/habbit/ocasional use. there's no other way to cut it.

of course i've already mentioned Nuevo Laredo Mexico. no one has even bothered to ask what's going on there. two weekends ago there was a 45 minute gunfight between a drug gang and mexican police/federales, and yes, belive it, mexican army personel. two suspicious SUV's kept circling around the police station in Nuevo laredo. then as one police unit went to investigate who it was, they had themselves a high speed chase. two more suv's joined the chase firing shots at the police. the chase ended and the gunfight heated up. when back up came, they had to call the federales, essentually mexican federal agents. and when they assesed the situation, a mexican army unit was called in to back them up. in the end two SUV's blew up and the other two drove off.

seriously, is this shit necessary? there's a turf war between drug gangs in Nuevo Laredo to support your habbits. people are getting kidnapped, killed, and it's not necessary.

all the more reason to legalize it and make it a legitimate business.

do you honestly think it will stop because a few people stop smoking?

no, its not going to.
