i'm lookig for some new equipment to have fun with too, but due to my lack of "guitar" friends i know almost nothing about guitar brands and lingo, i'mlooking at some pedals that i can have fun with could anyone give some suggestions? i play a Ibanez GIO, not the best qulity guitar but at least it's a major name, i'm pretty sure i use a Peavy Rage, but i'm not certain i'll double check that when i get back home...............wow that's pretty sad that i don't even know my amp for sure....

Center Stage has the best amplification/effects stuff in Kingston. I still like Renaissance better because they've got the Gibsons.

lets see.....well....since you are not too knowlegable about guitar effects, I recommend and Zoom 505 multi-effects pedal.I used to have one but I upgraded to the Boss GT-6.
Ummm. Can I assume that your peavy Rage is an Practice amp?

Well...If You are looking for an effects pedal. I highly recommend you buying a Zoom 505 or 606. The 606 has a expression pedal built on it. Its up to you which to buy of course. The cost should be around $170 an up.
Hope that helps.

It's been a while for this thread...
Right now I use an Ibanez DS7 Tone-Lok distortion pedal. I'm sick of it. It's a pain in the ass to switch on. I often have to stop playing if I want to switch it.
Here's what I've got:
Here's what I hope to get tomorrow afternoon (if I like it when I try it out):
The Marshall GV-2
It's got 6 adjustments:
-Gain
-Deep
-Bass
-Treble
-Middle
-Master Volume
Compared to the DS7's:
-Drive
-Tone
-Volume

Cool. How much does it cost?
I just bought me some new gear today too

The guy that I phoned said it would cost around $120 on sale, depending on if I pick the GV-2 or the JH-1 (the JH-1 is a lot heavier, so I doubt I'll pick it, but it's the other distortion pedal by Marshall).
Plus, I'll get around $40 on a trade in for my DS7.
What did you buy?

I got my self an Ebow and Boss Delay pedal
Boss effects pedals are too expensive dammit

I bought the GV-2. It's pretty awesome. But it's going to take me a while to get used to it, and figure out which settings to use for each song I play.
Next on my hit list is a new amp. I tested the pedal on a mega huge amp at the guitar store and just about died. My little 15" just doesn't cut it any more.
Any suggestions for amps? I'm thinking Marshall's a pretty reliable brand, but I'm open to suggestions. (I have a Crate now).
