Damn right!

If we all just stay here, we'll get through it. I don't really see the difference. Same board. Same band. Same fans. Same friends. Same topics.

What's the big deal? Even I was worried with the new stuff, but I'm over it now...

  HAHAHAHA this stuff is sooooooooooooooooo funny. Now I see why people liked watching the other fights going on. I miss 2 days and come back and there's another one!!!

Okay here's my 2 cents. I'm only giving that much because I'm as poor as Gary Coleman. I hope I don't end up as a security guard...

Anyway, I NEVER READ THE RULES. I kinda picked up on some from the posts in this topic, but I say "meh" to them. I'm not reading them because frankly... I DON'T CARE. I'm gonna go about this place like I always have. The rules aren't even worth reading. Why?

Because everyone listen up. I'm going to tell you how this new fight got started.

A person posted an opinion about how they don't like the new forum names (OPINION). They found this place to perhaps be more boring or colorful with the new names (OPINION). What happens next? Someone complains about the previous person's POST AND OPINION and it grows from there.

This is what's wrong with the site.
PART 1: Everyone in this topic is talking about being able to speak their opinion. Well if one member doesn't like something and expresses their opinion, the mods are telling them to keep quiet and deal with it or like it. That it's the admin trying something new or trying to make some sort of senseless change.

Don't agree mods? Read from page one of this topic, you'll see.

PART 2: The way this place was altered, (the rules and the new forum names) was a completely un-thought out decision. If it was thought out, then there were no alternatives or consequences considered. All I'm saying is that it was the exact OPPOSITE of what the CM needed.

EX: The admin felt that the CM needed a change and therefore put the rules and new forum names into action. This results in UNPLEASANTNESS. The first rule in modern sociology is to look at society as a whole. This is a community therefore an online society and the action taken was in the opposite direction of what was needed. The rules and new forum names added to the slowly diminishing tension and all of a sudden this place is on edge again and I'm sorry to say it. The brink of destruction.

Now, we can't blame everything on bad decision making because as I stated in PART 1 it deals with Opinions; however everyone is looking at present quarrels and conflicts. They never look to what the very first action taken was. It's like the very first brick in a wall. It's at the bottom and if you remove it, the wall will weaken. It won't fall right away, but if you keep moving in the wrong direction (removing bricks) the wall will crumble. That's what everyone is missing. The first action started an explosion, sometimes things NEED TO BE LEFT ALONE

In this case, another brick was removed from a weakening wall.

To be honest, the most accurate thing I've seen in this discussion is that some mods are getting an EGO. Big mistake. When I was a mod and someone looked at me as a higher authority I would try and make them see that my only job was to keep this place pleasant and fun. I provided my time and media, (My videos, mp3s and other OLP stuff I ripped) I did it for the community because even though I was a moderator, I didn't act like one, I acted like EVERYONE'S FRIEND.

That's what's different now. Some moderators are abusing their power and angering everyone else.

All the mods need to know is that they are the same as every other member, they just have the power to make this place more pleasant or more miserable.

I tried to make it more pleasant. I felt "someone else" was doing the opposite or an injustice and I spoke out. Consequences arose, action took place and here I am in the same situation as all of you.

I would like to apologize about one thing. I have tried to make this post as general as possible. Not giving names. ELIMINATING LABELS AND RANKS. However I couldn't do that for the MODERATORS because it's the only way I could explain my plight. So to you moderators, I apologize.

All I am asking of the mods is to consider this. Consider what I said about how you have the power to make this place more PLEASANT or more MISERABLE. It may not be completely your fault as you don't have power over the visual atmosphere (New forum names) or the not needed rules, but
just hear me out on this. You are fighting yourselves when fighting others opinions. Everyone has different personalities, but if you weren't happy with something and spoke your opinion, you would want to at least be heard.

So hear me now, as this may be only my opinion, but it is the most accurate opinion of this place that I can give.
Moderators, you have the power to make this place GREAT, but if you look at everything the way it is right now, the powers of this site have just been contributing to the opposite. You guys are straying in the wrong direction. Once we realize that there's a brick missing that's when we can start to rebuild the wall. Everyone has been using their authority with what they thought was a good idea, but the outcome was just the opposite. That's when a new course of action is needed.

That's all I have to say. Oh and one more thing. This may seem kind of rebellious, but it is not meant to be. IGNORE THE RULES that have been posted. Like I said, it's a step in the wrong direction. We are all able to tell the difference between Right and Wrong, maturity and insanity. So far no one has been out of control or broken any rules in the entire time this community has existed. Those original rules aren't even rules. They are guidelines to follow, but most of all they are pretty much our common sense. That's all we need...

Just give my opinion a try before you bash it. If it doesn't work, then I was wrong. That's all. End of story. Nothing changes, but if I am right, then this place might achieve the greatness that it deserves and once had.

We don't need RULES to show us or help us achieve what this place needs. We need to have fun and ignore what's behind us.

I hope some of you can see what I'm trying to say and just don't even comment on it. Give it a try before you counter attack for once.

Whoa.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

im not sure if everyone knows this...but CM always had rules. all we did recently is clear them up a little bit and post them. the rules aren't meant to stifle freedom or opinions at all. what were doing is trying to avoid hostility. the rule thing may or may not work but we knew we had to do something to save our beloved CM. go ahead, express yourselves...wer're simply trying to make it a nice peaceful environment for everyone to enjoy. granted, it was a lot easier before it grew to its present gargantuan size, but i still think that we can exist as a place to discuss OLP, not bitch incessantly. i say again, i have never been to a successful message board this size that didnt have rules.

please everyone can we end this? how about we try and make it work again

Not trying to rile anyone up but is that how you solve all ur problems?? Just forget about ur opinion and move on?? What we want is the rules to be less restricting. That and the topics is what we have been fighting for Steph! How can you just tell us to knock it off because every board has rules and not even address our desires?? Some of those rules are CRAZY!! You say they're only a guideline is BS. Reduce them to the real level then. Thats all I'm saying. We'll try to make it more like it was if you lessen these stupid rules. I'm sure we can point them out for you if you wanna know which ones but I'm sure you already know. Its called a compromise. Take it or leave it.

Like I said before, it's AL'S site. He can do what he wants to do with it. He can make this into the next Ebay if he wants to, so just let him do what HE wants with HIS site.

I'm staying as long as it's an olp message board. "Why?" you might ask. Because i'm
