Waiting to Exist wrote:This Friday's Dollhouse is going to be great. Reviews are popping up saying it feels like real Joss TV. Which Dollhouse already felt like to me, so I can only take this to mean it gets even better. So, everyone watch if you're not watching BSG!

So I finally watched last week's episode - pretty good. I'm starting to get more into it now.

Good episode. I liked the fight scene. Heather had the neighbor pegged all along.

Oh my goodness! Tonight's episode was AWESOME. I'm really getting into it now. Never saw that twist towards the end coming!

Also, I was thinking the FBI agent was Alpha - guess he's not, since they've seen him at the Dollhouse and haven't identified him.

Poor Sierra :(

That bald woman at the FBI just played a murderer and transgender woman on SVU a couple weeks ago! Took me the ENTIRE episode to figure out where I'd seen her before!

The preview for next week looks really good. I'm glad I've been watching from the beginning, because if I tried to get into it now I don't think I could. But the more I see the more I like, and I definitely saw more of what I was expecting, style-wise, this week. Yay!

Next week's looks hilarious.

Loved this week's. I even got a little teary at the end... it was hard not to sympathize with Patton Oswalt.

Sadly, I had a feeling about Mellie's twist. She was originally going to play an active, then was "recast." But the same thing happened to Victor, so it seemed likely that the situation was the same here.

That was ooey gooey and delicious.

Please oh please Joss don't make me fall in love only to get cancelled again :(

I guessed Mellie from the first time I saw her, but then I gave up on the idea after a while. I'm wrong and right!
And a bunch of places had me laughing outloud this week. Particularly Rebecca/Echo's "Porn!!" when she saw the bed with the flower petals.
The whole episode was fab.

OMG yes! I was sitting here laughing so loud, "SEE?! PORN!" was the best part of the episode for me. Totally Joss.

Joss apparently made a deal with Fox that they would run the whole season - why would it get cancelled? Unless you're talking about them only running one season and then canceling it. I don't know why everyone's worried about them canceling it...It seems to have picked up a pretty solid fan base (and seems like a better show than that Terminator show).

solid fan bases seem to have no bearing on cancelled shows. there are tons of shows out there that had solid fan bases and still got cancelled. and i think they're worried bout cancellation since firefly was also on fox and was cancelled during the first season.

Yes, but it's very common knowledge (and I believe it's been mentioned in this very thread) that they will not be canceling it during the first season, so I don't know why everyone seems so worried.

Also, Firefly was up against one of the highest rated shows in its time slot on an opposite network, which, when it wasn't getting the ratings it was expected to get, probably played a big part in its cancellation. From what I can tell, there's nothing really worthwhile aired on Friday nights anymore (at least not that gets ratings - unless I'm just really out of the loop).

Umm, Fox pretty much sentenced Firefly to death by moving it around so much. Its hard to get an install base for a show when viewers don't know when its supposed to be on. Not to mention Fox had the brist idea of airing The Train Job first instead of the original Serenity pilot.

i did mean cancelling after the first season, megan. obviously the show isn't going anywhere until the first season is over, but i believe that only includes 13 episodes, and it would be a shame if it got cancelled after that. fan base or not, apparently the ratings aren't that good as it is

Yeah, that's what I meant too. 13 episodes isn't enough!

I think the only high-rated show on Fridays now is Numb3rs, but that's in the slot after Dollhouse, so they're not competing.

Fox seems to have Terminator and Dollhouse tag-teamed at present. I hope that doesn't mean the failure of one would affect the other, because it looks like Terminator is circling the drain. (And yes, Dollhouse is a better show, from someone who's seen all of both so far)

Terminator is gonna end soon. It's being replaced with Prison Break, another canceled show, on April 17th (in fact, it's coming back with a two-hour premiere, so no Dollhouse that week). Sadly, this likely won't help Dollhouse much, if at all.

The ratings aren't great right now, but a bunch of ratings folks are saying that if they go up a bit (as they started to last week--hopefully the drop this week was just BSG's effect) then there's a decent chance we'll get a season two.

That would make me happy. But I am not overly optimistic for it. Fortunately, Joss at least planned this one to have an ending, unlike Firefly.

I'm fairly certain that is not what was said. I think the deal Joss made was that the first 13 episodes would be aired in order. I'm sure those episodes will air, but fox can still cancel it if they wanted to. They have the ultimate say.
