Newport, TN?
I grew up in Bristol, on the Virginia side, but it isn't near as trashy as Newport/Cocke County.
The single isn't out yet, Sarag.

Wow, ourladypeace.cc is reporting that a rumor has it, The Right Stuff will be the first single debuting on "Power 97" on November 17 during the "Six O'Clock Rock Report."
I can't vertify this, I'm just passing the news along.
Weird, the band confirmed "Burn, Burn" is the first single. I wonder what's going on.

Rumour has it that OLP's song, "The Right Stuff" will be the first single and will be debuting on Power 97 in Winnipeg on November 17 during the six o'clock Rock Report. Thanks to Robyn for emailing us about this.

According to this article, OLP's 7th major release is expected to be released in early 2009 and the first single will be called "Burn, Burn." Thanks to Matt S for keeping us informed.
So, that doesn't mean that Burn, Burn won't be the single - it's a rumor still. I'll wait for confirmation.

Yeah, the October 29 update is still a rumor while the October 14 update seems to be confirmed by the band. We'll just have to wait and see.
I'm just trying to figure out how the person who sent in this update heard about this information, maybe it was promoted on the Power 97 radio station. Maybe there's a way to contact them? I'll look.
Weird. I was thinking that they would release the first single with a couple (one or two songs) just for MySpace, since they recorded so much. I'm hoping they feel they owe it to the fans to have more songs out after three years than just one CD with about 12 on it. I hope for that. I wonder if they care enough anymore.

I think our sense of entitlement to anything from them is ridiculous. Let's be honest, it's more about what we want ourselves than true concern for the benefit of other fans. I'm not sure where you are getting the idea that they recorded a bunch of songs for this album. My understanding is they recorded 12-17 songs for the album. From Raine's interviews he says that they followed a similar recording process to his solo album. The possibility of some songs popping up as iTunes bonus tracks is highly likely. That's basing on the fact that A Decade, and The Hunters Lullaby had bonus tracks for iTunes. Still, they don't owe the consumer at large, nor their core fans, any bonus tracks or a fancy double album or anything above what they want. They care enough about their music to go play 3 shows out in the most unfrequented inhabited parts of the Canadian Atlantic and drop some new songs and old favorites on their fans, and care enough to craft a new record without outside influence and help. Good enough for me.

Also, to further confuse things, I just took a gander at Jer's Facebook and saw this interesting exchange:
Jeremy is drumming circles around his former self. Watch the fuck out folks! 3:47pm
Adam Langer at 3:49pm October 28 So when will we hear the new album? Jeremy Taggart at 3:50pm October 28 Only weeks now.
But I'm guessing Jer probably meant the new single, and not the whole album.

But I 100% agree with Matt. I'm not going to lie, I am hoping for a few bonus iTunes tracks or something along those lines, but to say we deserve it is a bit uncalled for. When it comes to the music, fans shouldn't have a say at all. If I was a musician, I wouldn't care what sound or specific songs fans want on a CD, myself and the band would decide what WE wanted on there. If we wanted to give bonus tracks, WE would. As long as WE were happy with the music we were making, that's all that would really matter (this sounds selfish, but music should be something that the composers love, not catering to the masses). No matter what the sound was, there would be fans of that sound. Maybe not the same fans, but someone out there would love it. The only part of the music fans should have a bit of say in is concerts, since they are based around the fans (but it would still come down to what the artists wanted).
For fans to say they are entitled to something is completely ridiculous. They should be happy that we are finally getting to listen to new OLP music. Sure, we all have specific things we'd like to hear from them and there's no harm and expressing it, but to say we're entitled to it (which pretty much is saying YOU feel your entitled, not the rest of us) is incredibly selfish.
The Birdman was released in February, the CD Naveed was released in March.
Superman's Dead was released in December '96, Clumsy is released in January.
One Man Army was released in July, Happiness was released in September.
In Repair was released in November, Spiritual Machines was released in December.
Somewhere Out There was released in March, Gravity was released in June.
Where Are You was released in June, Healthy was released in September.
So for the most part, fans have only have had to wait a month after the first single for the album to come out, but Raine stated that it wouldn't be out until 2009, so hopefully it will be January (since there is rumors for a November single). However, with the past two albums, fans have had to wait 3 months, which means we could be looking at a February or March release... But I'm really hoping for that January.
I somewhat agree with you about the tour. I mean, I'm looking forward to hearing some new songs, but I'm even more-so looking forward to and hoping they break out some classics on tour.
Also, I was going through old OLP blogs, and I wonder if we'll hear any variations of the following:
Piano
Orfus Road
Pearly Whytes
Silverfish
ba ba du ba da ba
THUMP
Brownbird
I'm not that out of the loop, am I?! I don't recognize any of those titles.
