How about the reason that we were asked not to share it?

As far as I know, the band is currently friendly towards the CM and the hub. I mean, Duncan came to a CM meetup.

I think they would be upset to find out that people found the new album a month before it was out by looking on the CM or the hub. I'd rather have you bitch about us "playing god" than the band having the hub shut down and being less friendly towards the CM.

actaully I don't think they will be too upset about it cause it is so close to the release date..

OLP have alwasy been fan related.. They know the fans will go out and buy their stuff so it wouldn't bother them..

Look at Gravity.. They loved that people were singing the songs back although the cd didn't come out for a few weeks.

I think people just want to wait.. It really isn't that long of a wait.. Really it is not like you are waiting for test results or something of importance. It is only music. It is not going to kill you to wait a few more weeks..

I'm just curious as to whether or not it has even been "leaked". As far as I can tell, the only possibility is that people have been sharing it privately. If that's the case, this whole topic is completely pointless. It's like discussing something that's not really there. If that makes sense.

What's wrong with sharing on the HUB? Back in the Gravity days they seemed to have the opinion "take it if you can get it"....and I'm sure a high percentage of people on the hub that download it will buy it because most of us are pretty hardcore. Hell, I might even buy my friends the album just because I'm a nice guy.

I have to admit this is a pretty good moral debate. I can see it from both sides.

Thats true, Its so much more exciting just to wait, may as well. Its only 15 more days.... I listenend to some, and I thionk Im gonna wait for the rest, It makes me feel guilty for some reason. Somebody just asked me if i wanted it, and I couldnt resist at first, then decided restrain myself and only listen to a song or two.Im glad i did. :roll:

I have no problem with sharing it on the hub because I think people would buy it still, but it's not up to me and I stand by whatever choice is made because I like the hub...lol.

The band knows the hub exists, too. It's really just a matter of respecting what they want (even if they don't care anymore because it's "so close to the release"... we haven't asked recently so we don't know and we're sticking to what we know from before).

If so, that sucks that someone did. But I'm glad I've got it. But no worries, I'm not going to share it here or on the hub. I've never been one of those people who could wait. I couldn't wait for U2 either :lol:

and if you didnt want this debate about it, then it should have been kept a lot more tight lipped from the ppl that do have it...it almost seems that the ppl who have it wanted to make the rest of us jealous....or it actually hasnt leaked at all

*** i really am starting to feel inferior to some ppl on here who seem to have so much control over what is and isnt heard, and i dont think its fair to the rest of us....i mean, we're not just here to grab the new album and run....i've been here since the board started....and i really do appreciate everything that ppl go through to tape shows and get them to us as fast as possible....but i just feel inferior lateley

I found it when someone who had it posted and said that it had leaked.

I downloaded it to verify if it was a hoax or real, when it turned out to be real I emailed Stace to let her know, because she had asked me to keep her informed of any leaks I found out about, and later sent it to her so that she could send it along to Sony and see if they could track down who was holding the copy of the album that it had been ripped from.

I removed the news from the website because, as mentioned above, I felt like the band might not be too happy if they found out about that being here.

Concerning what you said about it almost seeming that the people who have it wanted to make the rest of us jealous, maybe some do. I don't think I've said anything about the album to anyone, and I until this post I haven't been going around the forum saying I have the new album or anything like that. After verifying that it was a real leak, I've been trying not to listen to it at all until I have the actual CD. Other people have been posting about how they feel about the new album, and most of their posts have been deleted by myself or other moderators, because their posts probably would make people jealous. It seems like quite a few people have managed to get it by now, though, so it's a little more difficult to try to keep people from talking about it. I don't know where they're all getting it from.
