I'm gonna email some places that might be interested in having Matt play, and see what happens.
dont take him for too long, any less than the usual 7 shows he plays here a year isnt enough

Hmm, that's good thinking; if, by chance, he announces an American leg for the tour, I know just the place that might book him around here. I'll shoot 'em an e-mail if Matt comes 'Stateside.

I am jealous of all you guys who get to see Matt. He doesn't really play the States. I just missed him last year in Winnipeg(arrived the next day) and Ottawa(left the day of the show). I all ready told my friend we are going to see him when he comes back.( she lives in Ontario) I will say this I got to see him a few years back. He played the Bowery Ballroom in NYC. I got a *GIFT* from that show. He burned a teddy bear during one of the songs. I was waiting to meet him after the show(which I did-believe it or not he was very friendly). I was waiting for the other guys and the manager gave me the teddy bear they burned on stage. It is sitting on the couch in my living room. Granted it's eyes are missing.
, but it was cool.It is funny cause the pictures I got have the bear in it. I hope he plays some shows on this side of the border( like upstate NY or there about.)

Oh Matt is definitely a nice guy. It's just the media that portrays him as a dick.

He was very nice. I asked him how come they took some songs off BM. As you may or maynot know BM was released in the USA, but they took of 3 tracks and added some tracks from Underdog. Here is the USA listing.
Tracklisting:
1. Giant -
2. Hello Time Bomb -
3. Strange Days -
4. Deep 6ix -
5. Load Me Up -
6. Failing The Rorschach Test -
7. Suburbia -
8. Apparitions -
9. Jenni's Song -
10. A Boy And His __________ -
11. The Future is X-Rated -
12. Everything Is Automatic -
13. Born To ____ -
14. Running For Home -
I hate that they took off * I Miss New Wave* I love that song. Now I want to hear BM( the CA version)
anyway he said he wish he didn't, but the record company wanted them too. What was really great was the crowd was chanting RICO and he did it. I loved that.
Every Year Central Park in NYC has a Canadian act paly for Canada day. I said GOd FORBID they could get Matt Good, David Usher ot Tea Party. They usually get some acts that aren't really huge here. I am hoping this year they can get Sam Roberts. Now that would rock. They actually got the HIP one year.
BTW, OLP are too popular to play, but that would be cool if they did it. There are alot of Canadians in NYC. I wonder if there are alot of NY'er in Toronto.?

The funny thing is he hates Rico now. I remember him saying that it was the worst song he's ever written. ANd when I saw him over the summer, a friend of mine kept yelling play Rico, and he said "aren't you tired of that song yet? I'm not the Matt Good Band anymore" and he laughed.

here are the lyrics to the first matt good single "alert status red" released may 4
In the wilderness uncountable voices
earplugs for the birds and the animals
and blinders for your beast of burden, the will for learning
these books were made for burning
in the wilderness
beneath the ancient sand lies crushed and tanned those sapphire girls
may we never forget you
Alert status red
but the sun comes up instead
In the wilderness the only place to find freedom is in the dictionary
under "F"
men in holes, men in caves, men in chains I ask but the store clerk needn't check
man I forget which came first
the bad idea or me befallen by it?
not giving a shit may we never forget you
Alert status red
but the sun comes up instead
In the wilderness
senile live the zealous
lost to the treasures that compel us
muted down like patriots amiss
you know I'm jealous of how you can just turn them off
those bad ideas that feel so soft
may they never forget you

Tell me how that turns out. I'm trying to think of any other venues that would be interested.
I saw MGB in 2000, at the curling rink and it quite possibly had the worst sound of any venue I've ever heard. Now we have a very nice, fairly small theatre built across the parking lot from it, where matt played last year.
Bif naked is coming to the curling rink in may! why?!

From the lyrics, It seems like ASR might be AOB esque...

it's very clearly a political song...
In light of the email that Matt sent about playing in the UK I emailed him to see how he felt about the touring situation, as to whether he would play just the main cities or if he'd venture anywhere that would want him to play. I didn't receive an answer, and I doubt I will...

mmm. It'd be nice if he played a show in Detroit. It's practically Canada anyway.
It's too bad I'm wasting all of my lease miles on seeing Sloan 2-3 times (not sure if it will be 2 or 3 yet). I would definitely go see him.

I think it only got added recently - I'm sure it wasn't there before. There's been some new stuff added to the top of that page too.
