*one last hug for it*Aww. You were so cute being so happy meeting them. Don't mention it, that totally made my night.
But you forgot to mention the best part!! Joel giving you his Make Poverty History bracelet!!!
For everyone who wasn't there (... most of you), Joel was SO incredibly sweet. He saw how excited Reza was, and after signing the giant MPH board the frog had carried around the whole day, he took off his white band and gave it to Reza. He then told him that he hadn't taken it off since Live 8. He's lived in it since he wore it on stage at Live 8. And he GAVE IT TO REZA. He made him promise he'd wear it, though. Hehe. Then Rich gave Joel his MPH bracelet.
Then Joel gave Shelley a red band he had on (I forget what that charity was).
Then he called us "hardcore" and "awesome" a bunch of times as he was leaving.
In summary. Joel is unbelievably cool.
goleafsgo wrote:[Edit] One more thing... Hopefully that person doesn't come on this board, but what was up with the ska-nking to EVERY song??? Man, spent a good portion of the concert watching him/her. It was nuts! They ska-nked to freaking Thief! How on earth do you do that? I thought it was impossible to Ska-nk at Massey Hall and Ska-nk to OLP, boy was I proved wrong.

For real? how did you find out?
Long Jonny wrote:Information about the girl Raine was speaking about before thief can be found here. Her name is Hannah Taylor, and at eight years old, she is the founder of the Ladybug Foundation . She is trying to help homeless people. Pretty astonishing for an 8-year-old to have so much heart and compassion.

anybody notice that? probably on the side of the venue opposite from me.
afealicious wrote:some guy on livejournal who went to another olp show wrote:Before they sang "Wipe that smile off your face" Raine explained how "This is a song about why you should be proud to be a canadian." And then told a story about how that song is based on a dream he had where he woke up and George Bush was standing over his bed, and 'wearing nothing but his boxer shorts' Raine beat the shit out of him.well, there's a reason he decided not to go into this much depth at massey, what with all the film crew around him.

edit: god, come to think of it, that sounds almost like a near-rape nightmare.
