My hair is rather frizzy and at the last concert I went to people behind me were bitching about it. 13 year old girls going "her fucking hair's in the way!" And at one point I looked up (and tilted my head back) and this girl behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said "I hope you know that when you do that, your hair gets in my face." God.
No one pulled it though. Lucky me.

Yeah, well people wouldn't have had to deal with my hair if some asshole didn't take my hat from me like the piece of shit that they are. Oh yeah, by the way Cass, it is your fault you're pressed up against someone at a show. You're willingly in the middle of the pit with your elbows out running towards the stage just like everyone else that would be behind me. If you don't want to deal with hair, then get out of the pit and stop pushing up against people. Or make the shows 18+ so respectable people can go to a concert and enjoy it. That way, if there's a pit, there will be no assholes there to pull hair, steal hats, and intentionally try to hurt people.
I paid $31 for a concert. When I paid that, nowhere did it say I would be subjected to assholes screaming about how hot someone is, that I would have articles of clothing that I am most recognized by stolen from me, or have my back and the backs of my arms scratched so deep that I bled. I paid money to enjoy a concert, not bleed all over my Koufax shirt.

I guess I just figure that if you expect people not to scream about how hot Chris is and be respectful, then the hair is part of that too. I will deal with it, since I like the pit, but I just hope that people will do something with their hair. I know my hair was in the girl's behind me mouth, cause she was whining about it, but I pulled it up and tried to minimize the affect as much as possible

And I didn't rush the stage, I waited my ass in line so I wouldn't have to do that.
That was the one good thing about Deathcab for Cutie, everyone just stood around enjoying the music. Yay for mellowness. I am too old for this shit.

Yeah see I have long hair and I pull it back so it doesn't piss off the people behind me. This chick kept pulling on it though and shoving me forward .. and I know she was just doing it to piss me off. Her teeny bf would pull a strand of it in an attempt to bug me .. I shoved them flying backwards and told her to back the fuck off and they didn't touch me again
It does piss me off when girls have massive frizzy hair and they don't bother to pull it back .. next time I'm taking a lighter to it

That evokes some freaky images.
I wonder how in the hell the tradition of smashing against eachother to see a band started.

....my theory is Michael Jackson.
but thats just cause everything bad in music today, stems from him.

Seeing 10 year olds trying to mosh in their own little pit is funny .. but it doesn't help when both Mest and GC tried to get the "biggest circle pit" going .. course it failed but still. I'm there to watch a band play, not run around in a circle or injure myself.

My question is, why do you need a concert to cause yourself injury and hurt others? Save alot of money if you just turned some music on and started playing like you're Jim Carrey in Liar Liar.

See, I have a problem when it comes to concerts. Usually, it's girls that are the really violent ones that pull hair and rake skin to get closer, but I can't hit a girl. It's just not right. I mean, as much as they deserve to get punched in the face, I can't do that because that's just not me. So, in general, I am fucked when I go to shows. Fucked in my ass.

Well, I can agree on that point. 9/10 people I have problems with are girls.

I really find it to be depressing that the most violent show I've ever been to was the fucking Dashboard Confessional concert. I mean, come on, they're a whiney emo band. That is just not right.
I have this odd preminition that 8/10 people there were seeing their first concert ever, and because bands like Good Charlotte and MXPX sing shitty songs about "going crazy at the punk rock show" the little girls thought it would be great to push forward like no other.
Now when I look at the other shows I've been to, like Alkaline Trio and The Bouncing Souls, where real punk crowds come out, they're more civilized people. Sure, they push, but they're not assholes about it. When someone falls down, people stop moshing to pick people up. When Bethany got knocked down, people just kept pushing people down to get closer and walking on the fallen people. People at real punk shows (I use the punk term loosely, as you all know) aren't looking to hurt people. That's just not how it goes down. People have respect for each other at the show because they're there for a common purpose, to listen to good music and have a good time, not to mention that the people there are usually freaks anyway. And on top of that, bands like Alkaline Trio are smart and put 16+ on the tickets, and if someone can't prove they're 16+, they aren't let into the show. It's heavenly. Fuck, Koufax shows are strictly 18+ which is immaculate. The Bouncing Souls have been around since the 80s, so most 14 year olds haven't even heard of them, which is nice.
What it comes down to is that if bands want to play a good show, they need to make it at least 16+. A band like Dashboard Confessional will still sell out the venue they're playing at if the 14 year olds can't go to the show, so why should everyone be subjected to the pain of shrieking pre-pubescant girls? No one deserves that.

Oh yeah, and to add to my post above, when there's an older crowd at the show, you really do away with the, "OMFG <singer's name here>, you are soooo fucking hawt! I want your babies! Look at me so I can scream as loudly as I can and cry!"
It's really nice to go to a show and not have to worry about little bitches that deserve to be put through a wood chipper.

I attended some concerts that were awesome before I was 16 though, I'd feel really bad if some people who really weren't assholes didn't get to go. I guess their time will come, but that woudln't make me feel better if I was almost 16. Of course, one of them was SheDaisy

They didn't have alot of pit action going on.
The nicest people to me in the pit were Goldfinger last September. The pit was rough, and I got off my feet twice, but each time I was picked up, which was really nice.

hey now, gc don't sing about "going crazy at a punk rock show"
i have more of a problem with the guys .. the girls scream and cry and climb me to get closer but that i can handle .. it's the guys that seem to insist on surfing and you'd think that the guys would look out for the girls .. they don't .. in some instances i've had some guys help me out but generally they're the ones that start the shoving and the mini mosh pits

Well Joey, here's what you do when you go to your next concert. When someone crowdsurfs over you, take the person's shoe off. Then take the shoe and throw it on stage. The shoe then gets thrown out and the person loses a shoe for good. After that, if they go crowdsurfing again, the security guards will see they have one shoe, notice a shoe was thrown at the band, and escort the one-shoed person out of the building. It solves the problem. After losing one shoe at a concert, the person won't go crowdsurfing anymore, and in time, you'll weed out the problem children.
And at this very moment, I am politely asking that Brandnew makes their Detroit concert in November a 16+ affair. I am telling them my story of obnoxious children intentionally trying to hurt people in the crowd, and maybe if the show takes out the little children of the world, the fans of the music will be able to enjoy the music. I doubt they'll even respond, but it's worth a shot.

Usually when someone is being surfed over me I've got one hand protecting my nose ring and the other hand over my head

I have no free hands to take off their shoes .. but that's a good idea actually .. I saw many barefooted people yesterday

that is a good idea. couldn't you get charged pretty badly for throwing a shoe at the stage though?
also, just to make sure, the Brand New/HRC detroit date hasnt been anounced yet has it?
