Seriously. WHY do people feel the need to say that crap when people are talking about their BELIEFS.

That'd be like me coming into a religious conversation and spouting off satanic stuff. It's rude and disrespectful.

I believe he was just sharing his beliefs. He wasn't telling Joey to go die because she doesn't want to eat meat.

"meat is good" is not a belief, it's a random statement.

either way it is rude .. like i mentioned earlier when people felt the need to share that they ate meat for supper.

Well what if they found it rude that you didn't eat meat?

This is not what this thread is about ... or what it was meant for.

Ok well I hope I didn't offend you with my stories of cows.

technically the point of this thread is just "cows". The original post did not discuss a vegetarian lifestyle, so it leads me to believe that this topic is just about cows, whether they be used for meat or pet. I could understand if someone posted stuff like that in a thread that was specifically for vegetarians, but this clearly isn't the case, and simply because Joey started the thread does not mean that we have to make assumptions about what can and cannot be said in the thread.

yeah well people like to say things knowing it's going to get under someone else's skin and i think that's lame.

ummm as far as I'm concerned nothing was said in this thread simply to get under people's skin. Reno, Matt and I simply stated that we like cows for their meat. I can only speak for myself here but I'm sure the other two fellas would agree with me that there was no intention to get under people's skin.

well now you know it bothers people .. so keep that out of the thread then

Go make a vegetarian thread then.

Am I the only one here that thinks you're over-reactaing just a tad? I'm sorry but nothing wrong was said in this thread, and unless you make a thread about vegetarianism, I don't see why people cannot comment on how they view cows.

We had a thread about vegetarianism once. The comments were even more out of line in there. I'm sure some people remember it cos I completely freaked out on some comments in there.

It's a matter of respect for other people on this board.

Well I can't speak for that thread. I can only speak for the actions in this one. Hell, I'd be right there with you and Joey in a thread lik that telling people to piss off.

It's more a matter of when you're a vegetarian, whenever the topic comes up, people like to come out of the woodwork and speak up for their love of meat. It's like they're threatened by your choice of not eating it. It gets really old.

And, for a lot of us, we chose to become vegetarian for our love of animals and or belief that it's wrong to use them as food... so when those people come out of the woodwork, it's like they're belittling our beliefs.

It's hard to explain... but I'm sure you get the gist of it.

Like Jim said, I had no intentions of making my comment to offend or get under anyone's skin. I do apologize if I offended you, Joey. As Jim also stated, there was no vegan overtone to this thread to begin with, so I can see how people would post about their favor for cows as a food source. I will refrain from making any more meat related comments in this thread, out of respect for Joey. I ask the rest of you to do the same as well, and I apologize again if my comments were taken as pushing your buttons or offensive.
