Edwin had some good stuff too, it's just a diffrent style. I liked Scenery better then Dig though, although Dig had a few really good songs

I like some of the singles. For example, Another Sunday's verses rub me the wrong way a bit, but the chorus has a good sound. S&F sounds more likable than Dig, but I think Dig could grow on me over time.
I think I'm going to let BGO and tQMD sink in a bit more before I venture into S&F.

I love that song.
btw, who/what is "sule"?
heh, when I first saw the title of the song, I thought it was pronounced "good for sool", instead of "good for su-lay".

I remember listening to the world album premiere of BGO on Edge 102 back in '99, and one of the band members (I'm pretty sure it was Christian) said it was about a good friend of theirs who passed away.

well i thought i would update the IME news and revive this thread.
Both Jag and Chris had babies:), and Bruce and Brian got married. Which explains the Hiatus. There's no info on the DVD, but someone who talked to Brian said that IME definatly arn't breaking up. They also currently have no label.
In Good news Brian has nearly finnished a Solo Album and he's just browsing around to see how he wants to release it. He was going to go Indie, but there's been a lot of buzz around his work since the first performance at The Horseshoe. If anyone is interested in seeing him play he'll be playing at the Rivoli. It also might be a cool place to meet rock stars, cause like i said Billy Talent, David Usher and IME all came out to see him last show.
Hus music is supposed to be more laid back and slow acoustic sound then IME. But i've heard it's really good.
Tuesday August 31st
The Rivoli (334 Queen St W, Toronto)
BRIAN BYRNE
JILL BARBER (i belive this is Matt Barber's sister)
VALERY GORE
9pm.
i would suggest going if your bored tuesday

For fark's sake! I was just in TO today! I probably could have stayed if I knew he was playing! ARGH!
Anyways. While in TO, I bought a signed 8x10 promo photo from IME! It was expensive, since I bought it from one of those rip-off booths in the Eaton's Centre. It's a black and white from BGO, signed by everyone.

This is the picture:
Except that mine has a bigger white border around it, with "I Mother Earth" and some label information on it. Oh, and it's signed.

lucky lucky bastard, just finding IME merch is hard, let alone signed suff.

I know.
It was originally supposed to be $75 plus tax. I definately didn't buy it for that. I left, then came back a while later, negotiated with the guy, and got him down to $55, no tax. Still insanely expensive, but worth it.
They also had a few OLP things - two small promo shots and the Gravity CD (all signed of course). They were all Gravity-era though, so I didn't bother.

Man, if I ever find Mike-era signed OLP stuff, I don't care how much it costs.

apparently it's a more folky, slow, acoustic, emotional sound then IME's funky, proggy rock. Some people say think Good For Sule, and Passenger + Acoustic Guitar and folk

Just read that on the IME board too.
