well at least JIMI was number one.

I don't know where you live, but if you ever get to Cleveland you have to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They have a room(actually a hallway) dedicated to JIMI, and a theatre that plays stuff on him. It is really intersting. I love the Rock Hall. There is so much history there. You actually need a few hours or at least 2 visits to take in everything. I went there 2X. In 02" to see the OLP show and last year when I saw OLP in Cleveland. I actually saw OLP in Cleveland so I could go to the Hall again. They had the U2 exhibit that I just had to see. I am a HUGE U2 fan. (see my quote in my sig- It is from BONO)

and hey U2 had an influence on OLP so there you go. :mrgreen:

No, no. You need to see The Experience Music Project's Hendrix wing. I've never see it in person, but I was checking out the website and they have a mega load of Hendrix there. Paul Allen funded the museum, and purchased Jimi's white Strat that he used at Woodstock, along with a ton of other memorabilia. If I'm not mistaken, he also helped Jimi's family win back the legal rights to his name, likeness, and audio library from that evil rat bastard Alan Douglas. *stabs Alan Douglas*

That was an AMAZING exhibit. They had these high-tech phaser thingies, and when you pointed them at pictures headsets would give you information. They also had a ride with James Brown. FUNK BLAST. You were in a giant boot, traveling back in time through a tie die disco vortex :wtf:

. Also there was a musician simulator, that's great for people who can and can't play instruments.

The next time I go to Seattle I will see it. It wasn't built when I was in Seattle in 1997. The reason you have a huge Jimi WIng is Jimi is from Seattle.

want to hear funny. My friend named her son after Hendrix.(she was a huge Jimi fan) James Marshal. She named her son Jamie Mark.That would be like me naming my son Micheal Turner.(which can be used as a name)

She use to say she hated my older brother(he's 15 year solder) cause he saw Jimi play with Janis and even open for the Monkees.

since this is the OLP thread and we went off track abit( I am just as much to blame)

YOu know when you truly appreciate OLP's music(for me anyway) when you have a mixed CD of the songs. I have Naveed and Spiritual Machines songs mixed on one CD and Songs from Clumsy, Happiness, and Gravity on another CD my friend made for me. I was playing the CHG mixed CD today. It makes me appreciate them. I mean how could you not love songs like Blister, Let U Down, Not Enough, Car Crash, Potatogirl.

whenever I play this cd I realize just how much I :love:

I just really love this band with a passion. Raine's lyrics have always inspired me. Some have even pulled me through some tragic events in my life. Mike and Steve's guitar playing. Jamie and Mike E on the keys. I love the keys on Blister :bow:

. The drumming. I may not like some songs, but overall I still am proud to call myelf a FOLLOWER.

Do you have, or have you seen the Complete Monteray Pop Festival dvd? It's got most of Jimi's set, as well as Janis Joplin, The Who, The Byrds, Ravi Shankar, and a ton others. I just picked it up today and it's my second favourite box set (first being the Beatles Anthology). Well worth the money!
