I watch VH1 for the shows, not the music. I am not asking much by asking MTV to play videos. That is bullshit. They take the videos off their channel then ask you to pay $20 a month to see the videos they're supposed to play on MTV. But that doesn't matter because they can show a Road Rules Marathon every single fucking day a week. Who needs music anyway? Fuck.

edge tv... now there was a station. they had no VJ whatsoever except during band interviews. Other than that it was music all day with commercials maybe every 20 minutes and some narrator telling you the title of the show after comercials. Plus they had a pretty damn good indie show, and a punk show, and an up and coming new bands show.
and no rap/dance/hiphop/r&b

I saw The Planet Smashers on the punk show when I was in Canada once. They aren't exactly punk, but I wasn't complaining. They are oodles of fun in concert.

MTV only shows videos now early in the morning........although the Real World/Road Rules challenge is coming up, I dig that.

Oh well, as long as MTV makes sure I can see Good Charlotte, Lillix, and other craptastic bands, my life will be better.
Why am I the only one who has no idea who Lillix is?
I like MTV for the Real World, and that's it. If I want to see music videos, I can only watch Insomniac Music Theater. And usually they have a good mix.

It's ok, I have no idea who they are, either. I haven't watched much MTV for months, cos it's been especially crappy. *sigh* I grew up watching that freaking channel... why'd they have to go and make it suck.

Cass and Nikki, Lillix is shit.
If you're looking for a more in depth answer, I'll try to give it. It's a group put together by their record label to bank off the success "punk" bands and Avril Lavigne were having. It's four Avrils' dressed all punk-like and singing a slowed down Britney Spears song with guitars instead of a beat box and drum machine or whatever. Now the sluts are covering "What I Like About You" by The Romantics, and my friend and I are getting paid to tell everyone we possibly can about it, because it's big news for the record label, and it makes me sick. Absolutely sick.
The Real World challenge thing is damn fun, and I like to watch that, but beyond that, the rest of their shows blow. Did anyone else realize last year's Real World lasted 8 months? Then when that season ended, two weeks later, the new one came out. It's overkill. Show music or change the name of your station for fuck's sake.

Well thank God I've never heard this Lillix shit then. Sounds terrible.

I better steer my little sister away from MTV for the while or else we'll have that playing in the house
The last Real World sucked ass. This season is cool though. The one two seasons ago sucked too.
I never had MTV growing up, so at least I don't feel like I'm losing anything.

Oh, you know what? I heard that Romantic's cover a few nights ago. Well, saw a clip of the video on TV someplace, anyway. Ugh. I wanted to vomit. I love the original.
And, yeah, I've watched MTV since I possibly could, so "losing" MTV is really not cool. I was taping music videos at the age of 3.

It's amazing how long I've been a hardcore music fan.

Yeah, I've been watching MTV since I was old enough to start listening to music, so I would say I was about 5. Ahh I remember those days fondly, when the only non-music show they would have on is Remote Control, and still, the questions had to deal with music. And the non-music video shows on there were dance shows, again, dealing with music. Now it's just total ass. it's quite sad, really. I miss watching music videos...even if they were shit like Winger and Ratt.

That's what I use videopimp and launch.com for...even that is a long shot sometimes though.
Ahhh, what is America coming to?

Ahh, yes, the glory days of MTV. *reminisces*
