Wow. That was pretty friggin' deep.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

I've got about 50 seconds of it, and it reckons it's complete. Is that all there is? Or has my computer got attitude problems? Again.

anyone notice how raine hit one of jer's cymbal with his mic at the end of the song, that's pretty rockin'.

anyway, having heard this song I'm starting to see gravity in a new light. It really seems like a new beginning that they needed to grow from. Moreover, the fact that they played not afraid instead of innocent says to me that they are growing quickly and that we won't have to worry about getting another gravity.

i'm not really sure how i feel about this song yet. right now it has the live vibe to it, and i'm sure it will change completly by the time it gets on the cd, most of their songs do. am i the only one that thinks it sounded a bit gravity-like? sounded to me like a mix of birdman-whatever-and a little gravity. it still doesnt seem to be the deepest olp song ive ever heard, but it seems like a big step forward.

why is it that 'stumble and i fall' is ringing a bell? i hate it when i have half a thought in my head. it's killing me!!

Mine's 4:18, with a short intro from Clumsythief and the presenters announcing OLP.

They sure did. Raine's vocals were way off, Steve struggled through some of the opening guitar bits, and the mix was awful. There was way too much bass and the vocals were barely there for parts of the song. The absence of Mike E. also made a big difference. I like OLP's live songs a lot better when they layer the guitars by having two players. I loved the band's enthusiasm, but last night's performance certainly wasn't one of their best. It actually kind of reminded me of their brutal performance of Starseed on the Juno's in 1995.

I think a big problem was that they weren't there for soundcheck the night before. They don't play that bad when it's their own show...

Head over to www.ourladypeace.cc for lyrics and guitar tab for Not Afraid. That was damed quick.

The tab's pretty good, although the main riff changes up a lot. Then again, it could be like Crispy-Crunch, "A little different every time".
